SBS are showing it tomorrow night (8:30pm, SBS VICELAND HD). I expect they'll put it up on SBS on Demand after that.

Pretty sure you’ll find they’re starting from Series 1 again, maybe by the time they get thru the 2 series they will start showing Series 3.

Nope... S03E01 - Electric Sheep is scheduled for tomorrow night, at least that's what's in the TV Guide I'm looking at.

The Orville is not a show that has a series story arc, it's old school in that each episode is the story. So you don't need to binge it. But each to their own,
Not completely true. The Kalon War story arc ran for several episodes last season, and has carried over into S3.

It's still going to be on Disney+ under their Star content. According to a website I just found it's scheduled for release on D+ tonight @ 7 pm AEST.

Still not on there. Season 1 and 2 are there but I suspect it's a deal where the full season will be dropped once it's complete.

Looking forward to it tonight.

I won't comment other than to say it felt like the story was a bit our of sync with where I thought we were at timeline wise, but maybe I just needed to go back and watch the second season again before watching it.

Star Trek has a Klingon arc if you want to be technical, but not every episode is about the Klingons, is it? Talk about nitpicking.

Not even remotely similar.

S02E08 - Identity, and S02E09 - Identity II, formed a 2-part episode, telling the story of the Kalon War. S03E01 - Electric Sheep, tells the story of the aftermath of the Kalon War, as seen through the eyes of several of Orville's crew. S03E01 would make no sense to anyone who hasn't seen those two S02 episodes.

These episodes are more akin to the Dominion War story arc, which featured in many ST: DS9 episodes (including most of the final season).

The first episode was pretty good, and the increased budget could be seen in the CGI and set design. They tackled a heavy subject first up, but I didn't feel like they were preaching at me, unlike the most recent Star Trek shows(Discovery & Picard). There is some pretty heavy-duty ship porn of the likes of Star Trek: The Motion Picture. I'm glad it's finally back.

Yeah, it's like the last few episodes of S2 were ignored all together. Would have been better of they did a proper recap of the Kalon stuff instead of the dream.

Yeah I had to go check the episode guide on wiki to make sure I wasn't misremembering.

Second half of last season Isaac was back in the crew with everyone acting as if nothing had ever happened, then all of a sudden they circle back round and it's a become a big drama. I found it jarring and out of kilter.

Thought the first ep was great - do people not like deep themes being explored?
I didn't mind it overall, but I had a couple of bugbears with it.

1. When Isaac commits suicide after experiencing extreme harassment, Claire said, "He made a choice." That was unprofessional for a doctor to say. Someone who commits suicide after being harassed is not making a choice. They've been driven to it. In real life, this is a crime.

2. No space station would allow military weapons testing so close to it. That scene with Gordon was fun but unrealistic, something I wouldn't expect from this show.

Despite these two things, I liked it.

S3 Ep03 is another horror-filled affair with a dodgy ending.

Season has been enjoyable but feels like they're ripping a hell of a lot of from Stargate IMO.

Great first two seasons, but why so serious all of a sudden? Seth has lost the plot of his own show. It's three episodes into the new season and although the 3rd one was interesting to a point, it's short on jokes and is really just another Star Trek show... It's jumped the space station IMO...

I loved that ep. Always love the classic mystery on a new planet storylines.

I agree they could do with bringing a bit more of the humour back though.
