I was wondering if any one knows if any of the other O'Keefe's currently on AFL lists or future draft picks are related to Ryan or even each other. I'm planing to make a dreamteam of any players who are brothers or cousins, and wanted to check them out if possible. Please let me know if any one has any info!

All I know is that Ryan and Daniel at Sydney who I assume are not related. Guy is at the Doggies and there might be future draft prospects Nathan & Rhyce.

It's a different style of question you have raised, and if you intend to make a team of cousins and brothers there is only so much assistance you can get from this board. you also weren;t specific abou what info you were actually after...just O'Keefes?

Probably a whole heap more effort that I would put in to end up with a crap team, but do whatever blows your hair back!

I think you might struggle in the rucks as I can only think of Robert Warnock who has a brother playing AFL. Not sure if Fabian DeLuca counts because his brother doesn't play any more.

Interesting idea, i might do the same except i'll do the smart thing and make it in the fanplanner, not the actual game next year.

Your starting team might look something like this,(assuming you only count the player if both players are continuing playing in 09)........

Chad Cornes,Peter Burgoyne,Matthew Warnock,Mitchell Brown,Heath Shaw,Rhyce Shaw,Scott Selwood (Nathan.J.Brown,)

Jarrad McVeigh,Shane Tuck,Mark McVeigh,Joel Selwood,Kane Cornes,Luke Power (C.Morton,Shaun Burgoyne)

Robert Warnock,Cameron Cloke (Kurt Tippett, Jordan Roughead)

Travis Cloke,Chris Tarrant, Nick Riewoldt, Alwyn Davey, Daniel Motlop, Jarryd Roughead, Aaron Davey (Justin Westhoff, Mitch Morton)

There are many other players i could have selected for the forward line and midfield.

Thanks to m0nty for suggesting the Roughead brothers :thumbsu:

The brothers that missed out........
Adam & Hamish Hartlett
Robbie Tarrant
Matthew Westhoff
Troy & Adam Selwood
Jack Riewoldt
Jarryd Morton
Sam Power

David Johnson & Mark Johnson would have been included if M.Johnson didn't retire. Aisake O'Hailpin & Setanta might have been included if Aisake wasn't delisted. Also would have got Will Minson if his brother didn't retire this year.....

I wouldn't mind that starting team
Yeah didn't turn out too bad, would exceed salary cap but if you changed bench players it might be able to work i.e J.Riewoldt and K.Tippett for Robbie Tarrant and Matthew Westhoff or shaun Burgoyne and Cale Morton for people like Troy Selwood & Sam Power.

You could have the two Fishers in the backline, not to mention the Clarkes.

As for that fourth ruck, isn't Jordan Roughead a relation of Jarryd? Plus Kurt Tippett will be a ruck next year too.

Kurt will be in the rucks, thats good, was wondering about that.

And yes, Jordan is the brother of Jarryd, will sub him in for Joel Tippett.

Technically I think Rhys is actually an O'Keeffe, not an O'Keefe. Seems to be some disagreement about that in official sources.

Bad news update for my team: with the delisting of Joel Tippett from Brisbane my team doesn't have a fourth ruck, I'll have to mothball the whole concept now until some famous ruckmen brothers are produced or something!

It's a shame my whole team was reliant on him! Stupid Voss and his coaching career.

Next project, a father son team? Last year I had a team of bald players called "Bald Bladders" who actually did alright!

What other ideas have you guys got?

Daniel will no doubt come into consideration during the preseason. A tough little guy that gets a lot of ball and was listed in the fwds this season. If he was fit he would've no doubt got solid gametime this yr.

For those who remember he was impressive in our only 2008 preseason game v Hawthorn. (the "Jarred dont kick a goal " game ). Looked busy but suffered season ending injury. Yet to debut for the seniors going into 3rd yr as a late 1st rnd draft pick (was #16 i think)

He will be worth at least a second glance if he's fit preseason..esp if named in the fwds again at virtually minimum price. Has a LONG way to go tho.

Father son team would look something like this.........

Andrew Raines,Chris Johnson,Brett Peake,Heath Shaw,Sean Dempster,Tim Callan

Gary Ablett,Travis Tuck,Jesse Smith,Jobe Watson,Rhyce Shaw,Josh.P.Kennedy (Adam Donohue,Jaxson Barham)

Mark Blake,Ayce Cordy

Brett Ebert,Travis Cloke,Mitch Morton,Jay Neagle,Tom Hawkins,Jonathan Brown (Darcy Daniher,

Don't think you can make a full team of F/S selections......

I say make a team called "TALL TIMBER" and put in all the tallest players from their respective positions

Maybe make a whole team of players whose last name starts with B.

Would be pretty good i think something like this..........

Peter Burgoyne,Craig Bolton,Joel Bowden,Nathan Bock,Grant Birchall,Simon Buckley(most likely a back nxt yr) (Nathan.J.Brown,Jason Blake)

Simon Black,Matthew Boyd,Luke Ball,Cameron Bruce,Jimmy Bartel,Jared Brennan(most likely a mid nxt yr) (Shaun Burgoyne,Chance Bateman)

Dean Brogan,Mark Blake (Chris Bryan,)

Daniel Bradshaw,Jonathan Brown,Matthew Bate,Brett Burton,Eddie Betts,Nathan.G.Brown,Amon Buchanon(might be here) (Mitch Brown,)

Personally i like the idea of having a team of people with "double" initials
e.g Darcy Daniher (D.D),Marlon Motlop (M.M),Mark McVeigh (M.M) or Mitch Morton (M.M) but i doubt you would be able to get a full team of those players, could get close though.

These are the only players i can think of for the "double initials" team

Marlon Motlop - MM
Mitch Morton - MM
Cameron Cloke - CC
Darcy Daniher - DD
Jarhan Jacky - JJ
Marc Murphy - MM
Hamish Hartlett - HH
Travis Tuck - TT
Greg Gallman - GG
Brett Burton - BB
Scott Stevens - SS
Mark McVeigh - MM
Chad Cornes - CC
Scott Simpson - SS
Russell Robertson - RR
Nick Naitinui - NN
Scott Selwood - SS
Steven Salopek - SS
Matthew Maguire - MM
Martin Mattner - MM
Steele Sidebottom - SS
Ben Bucovaz - BB
Jordan Jones - JJ
Luke Lowden - LL
Kade Klemke - KK
Mathew Martin - MM
Tobias Thoolen - TT
Daniel Dzufer - DD
Shane Savage - SS

Mal Michael & Jason Johnson would be in if they didn't retire.

Ok so that is 30, now to organise them into their probable positions.

B- Klemke(b/c),Jones,Mattner,Stevens (b/f),Maguire,Selwood (b/c),Cornes (b/c), Gallman
C- Salopek,Hartlett,Sidebottom,Tuck,Savage,Murphy,McVeigh
R- Cloke,Naitanui,Lowden
F- Morton,Motlop,Robertson,Jacky,Daniher (b/f),Bucovaz,Burton,Simpson,Thoolen,Dzufer

i thought this thread was going to be about premiums who aren't considered amongst the best-of-the-best in their category, but are good enough to be keepers and have a great record at playing 22 games -> ultimately providing excellent DT value through reliability and consistency.

Ryan O'Keefe

Captain Fantasy, i am disappointed.
SelfConfessedAflNerd, stop encouraging him. :p
