There are heaps of reasons why PC gamers are boycotting it. One of the biggest is that people are simply sick of having so many different launchers on their system. Most people just want Steam, and if they really have to they'll use Origin and Uplay. Another is the Chinese tech company Tencent owns a large share (48% I think?) of Epic and they were employed by the Chinese government to spy on their users as they were involved with the social credit system thingy over there. While Epic is still majority owned by Tim Sweeney and operates out of the States, there is fear that if Tencent took majority of Epic then they'd pinch everyone's data.

Also little things like the Epic launcher is shit. They're working on that though and it's actually improved since I first got it to buy Metro Exodus. They don't have regional pricing for everyone yet. So it's cheaper for people in North America and I think some places in central and northern Europe, but for Aus we still have to pay USD, eastern Euros are complaining that the prices are closer to Swedish prices compared to what they normally pay. Epic are continuing to add more regional currencies though.

It's a new thing, it's not fantastic but it's improving. I think the Tencent thing is a legitimate cause for concern, but other than that I think people hate change. I'm not a fan and I would prefer to keep all my games in one place but it is what it is. For a little peace of mind, my Epic account only has my full name, but I use a disposable email address and pay with Paypal.

These 12 month exclusives to Epic Store have got to end. Like, Now. I don't really care if it's a game they've published, but throwing money at games like Metro: Exodus and The Outer World and buying exclusivity ******* stinks.

I haven’t even checked but is Outer Worlds on Unreal? That could be a reason and if so we could start to see many more AAA games using Unreal take the deal at Epic.

With Outer Worlds also releasing on Windows Store (surely no one has an issue with that? That’s where I get Forza and stuff) unlike Metro I’m assuming there is a Microsoft involvement as Obsidian aren’t going exclusive until after Outer Worlds. Microsoft have been making inroads back into PC gaming and Microsoft getting involved with Epic in some way would be big. Not only would it road block Tencent but it would go a long way to legitimising Epic Store. I prefer Steam too, but let’s be real, Valve were very complacent for years with Steam while they had a monopoly. It is only the last few years when competition emerged that they picked things up such as regional pricing for AUD. Origin for example isn’t just a place for EA published games anymore as it extends to much more such as stuff from Warner Bros, Obsidian, THQ, inxile a some more and these are all included in the vault with an Origin subscription.

On release? It took the modding community to create a launcher that fixed the bugs and crashes.

Never managed to get New Vegas working completely on my 360. Just kept bugging out and crashing to the point where I just stopped bothering and went back to Fallout 3. This looks like it will be a ton of fun but my expectations aren't going to be too high. Cant handle that dissapointment
