Tell me where would Doughty be in the B&F if he were playing for say Port Adelaide?????? I would argue that he wouldn't even crack a game on a regular basis.
Illogical argument
Therefore if Roo wins the B&F this year, then that achievement should be tokenised because of our poor win/loss record

Should we also apply that principle to a possible Brownlow win:confused: ;)

The last few weeks has seen us play the peripheral players.

My summation is as follows:

Gallagher - too many small players like him in the team - he has had his chances but not taken them when needed. For his size he needed to be quicker. Sorry gags but the SANFL for you.

Skipworth - may be on two year contract and therefore cannot be dropped from the list - played two good games, but his form has tapered off since. If we can I would drop him at this stage, but he can turn quickly - this is one trick he does have. Lacks penetration in kick and speedy acceleration.
Agree - delist both

Perrie - appears to have lost the confidence of the coaching staff - trade.

Massie - see Perrie. He must have broken every team rule, because both Ayres and Craig are loathe to play him - trade.
Agree - trade both & few others fit into this category as we must be active come trade time.

Mattner - has developed and has pace. At 189 cm he will become a hard running backline player. - keep.

Doughty - the current 24 yr old player has enjoyed his best year for the club- he must be kept. He has good pace, neat skills.
Still agreeing - both have done enough to stay on the list for another year.

Biglands - plays too inconsistently - give one more year -but when is his potential going to be delivered on a consistent basis.
Like others have mentioned, with Clarke's likely retirement we cannot afford to trade Biglands unless we trade for another ready-made ruckman. Agree through Biglands needs to find consistency & overall has had a disappoiting year.

Ladhams - a bit like Massie and Perrie- he may have to go to allow a younger quicker player to stay on the list. Another not to take advantage of his chances when they came earlier in the year.
Doubt we will get anything for Ladhams - delist.

Thankyou for the support in your comments Kane, appreciated.

Whilst I do not expect everyone to agree with me, I thought some people were only taking selective parts of comments and making a mountain out of a mole hill. Eg Biglands.

How convinient of you to ignore my question. Where would Doughty finish in B&F if he was playing for a side like Port Adelaide?????? I would argue he wouldn't crack a regular game.

I have stated before that I wouldn't delist Doughty but if there is a decent trade on offer I would do it. I never said anything about delisting him.

That's a moot point Stiffy, as he would be playing COMPLETELY differently. His form in Port would not be equal to his form at the Crows this year. As per 2002 - when he was in a gun midfield, he was able to play the outside receiver role beautifully because we HAD a gun midfield for him to receive from. As at Port. This year he has had to learn to grub the ball for himself and it has taken him some time.

If he was given the opportunity in Port's midfield, he may end up something like Cassisi or Kingsley...who could very well be in Port's top 10.

As for Biglands...when he is given the no 1 ruck role, he almost always plays well It is when Clarke has more time or they split the time that he seems to turn out average performances...much like Perrie when Carey is in the forward line. Look at that Melbourne game and Biglands got almost all of the game time over Clarke.

That's pretty astute, spinny. Bickley and Johnson have both gone since then, and they were probably the guys that got it out to Ladhams.

He was a very good finisher once he had the ball.

This year it's been more a case of each man for himself, and Ladhams just doesn't play that style of game.

Unfortunately we have too many receivers in the mid-field at the moment and not enough with grunt. Ladhams could be in real strife.

I was actually referring to Doughty, bt I guess the point holds for Ladhams too.

The recasting of Doughty has certainly increased his hardness this season. Pity it hasn't worked for Ladhams.

Fair enough. I've been one of Doughty's critics in the past for being soft at time. However, he definitely has increased his hardness as this season has progressed, and his value to the team accordingly.

He was playing a blinder before he got hurt by Farmer - BOG at the time.

Going around in circles, I think I responded to the post adequately.

Never in the post Stiffy did I Raise the question of delisting or your views on it. Why have a go at me on that point then:rolleyes:

Agree completely with all points made.

Doughty has not had his 2002 season replayed, but the decrease of the amount of gun midfielders in our team now has demanded him to take a harder approach at the ball and would deserve to be in our top 10.

Biglands and Perrie suffer from a lack of opportunities, and therefore they struggle and remain inconsistent. Both players have really got to deliver on their full potential sooner or later. Biglands showed great signs against Melbourne, but has faded since. He can't allow that to happen.
