So apparently we're (finally) looking at using the river more and expanding the ferry service.

LOL @ Lizzie Kway being a "game changer", though. Good try, Emperor Barnett, but didn't the ferry used to stop about 100m from where it stops now, at Barrack St jetty? It's not like it suddenly docks in Murray St Mall or something, you still need to walk up to the terrace and beyond to be in the city.

And that should still happen! Especially to these leotard wearing tour de france wannabes.

Also, I was speaking to someone recently who was a native Perthite like me and he had no idea this was under the Stirling Bridge. Just curious how many here hadn't seen it/didn't know about it?

Got to admit I knew it was there but didn't click with me who it was. I got asked about it by someone while I was fishing there and I said I didn't know. When someone told me who it was at work I slapped myself in the head.

Could be another way of also getting to the footy

Car and motorbike theft (in fact, anything that pretty much isn't nailed down or locked up) is a daily way of life in parts of Kal./Boulder There's almost daily videos posted online of offenders just brazenly entering properties and helping themselves, they don't give a stuff, nothing happens to them.

People feel like they're living under siege in their own homes.

We do a fair bit of work with some of the local communities outside of Kal. It is quite a sad state with a clear demarcation of those pre and post Mid 70s.

Sit down money has caused so much pain and suffering.

I don't understand how a ferry could be quicker than a train. Or is this just if you are a tourist and want to roll down the river and see things? Because in that case, Guilford to Perth would be cool.

EDIT: As usual, beaten to it.

I had breakfast during the week at Mister Walkers and I was surprised at how many people seemed to be using the ferry as a means of getting to work. On a good day it would make for quite a pleasant trip - not the quickest but relaxing none the less

Would definitely beat sitting in peak hour traffic or being a sardine on one of the trains.

Didn't know, don't particularly care, and am not entirely sure who it's meant to be.

Bob Maumill is leaving 6PR at the end of September. From his Facebook:

"I suppose it's no secret now. I will be finishing at 6PR at the end of September. I've had a great run, radio has been good to me. Audiences and managers have put up with my antics. I've met incredible people. But I want to leave before I am asked to.
Lot of young broadcasters ready to have a crack."
Do not like.

Big fan of his Sunday morning show.

Not a bad bloke for a Soufs fan.

The ferry terminals will expand in time with a push by twiggy to see circa 12 terminals around the river

Tough to see why you couldn't walk into a job.
Oh no, here we go, not this sarcastic old c*** again... ive got a great job you sour old crumb.

And how would I know who Bon Scott is? That's like me showing you the most popular hip hop artist of today and expecting you to know who it is... And Perth trains are scust. Get that superman cape off, not everything about Perth is 'perthfect'.

LOL.

Bon Scott died before I was born so comparing him to a popular hip hop artist of today isn't all that relevant. I also don't care if you know who he is or not, but you sound like a massive try hard. Do you have 'ganxta' rego plates?

Perth trains are fine, anyway. Have you ever actually ridden the subway to the Bronx or the tube to Brixton etc?

I haven't caught the South Perth ferry in years. How long does it take, 10 - 20 minutes?

I'm not really sure how more ferries would work because Perth is very centralised and Elizabeth Quay is right next to existing road and rail. I'd love to take a ferry to work if I could.

I rode on the Singapore trains recently and I think people see them as the Gold Standard of clean trains. Besides not having any graffiti scratched onto the windows, they weren't much different to Perth's.
