That is my reckoning. Even Carlisle/Lathlain still have the stigma of what they were in the 80s and 90s and earlier.

This place (https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-wa-carlisle-126492130) is fine for a family (not a big yard but right next to a nice park) and is $529-549k. Under 10km from the city and connected by Orrong Rd, Albany Hwy and Shepparton Rd plus rail. I find it a bit odd that people go to these new suburbs miles from the city that are all set up for families etc. then spend hours a day commuting and missing out on actual family time.

That’s a pretty good deal

Close to the city, the river, the footy and Vic park. Also attractive to FIFOs being close to the airport.

Doubt anyone would know but I saw some old pisshead drinking a beer in some toilets in Perth today and thought it was that Morello or whatever it’s called they all drink in America but now I realise it was Hite.

This bloke was drinking it from a can but I know some Asian grocers used to flog six packs of the stubbies for about $10. Is there a place in Perth CBD that sells these for cheap? Anyone know?

Well I've lived around Gosnells, Maddo, Kenwick etc for more than a decade so it'd have to be Armadale levels of bad to put me off

Lived in Maddo years ago for 1 year. It was actually totally fine. Had no issues and loved listening to the train in the distance.

Armadale has had a lot of town centre investment so at least looks a lot better than Maddo or Gosnells.

Oats St is effectively Carlisle and is fine, Welshpool is industrial, Queens Park and Canno are getting investment. Even Beckenham is starting to look better. It's Kenwick on where it really starts to get dodgy.

The homeswest are a lot worse out in Armadale. I guess you just have to live in those areas to get it. Armadale is 4th or 5th in the city in crime for a reason.
