My Sydney friends getting treated to the service of the Mercure hotel restaurant.

Stay well away if you want your feed in a reasonable timeframe.

$35 for a small piece of chook that you can get for like $3 with chips at Chicken Treat with a serving of tinned beans with carrot that is supposed to be prosciutto.

What a shithole.

4$ quarters at CT Mon, Tues right now. :thumbsu:

Went to Yagan Square last night and thought it was brilliant. The food options looked good quality and inexpensive. There are licensed joints. Plenty of different spots to relax in (my son was a fan of the playground part) including an amphitheatre with live music. There was a real vibe, and then the walk to the Arena through the link precinct was great.

Legit couldn't more impressed with the area.

Yeah but does it have a big screen shaped like a coke can?

Does Perth bat above it's weight for fixed, big screens in the city?

We have one in the Cultural Centre, one in Northbridge Piazza and now the coke can.

Adelaide has none as far as I know. I can't comment on the other cities and from my travels I only remember Federation Square's screen.

But what do they do with them? I know they play movies in the piazza occasionally but I don't recall them being hubs for major sporting events or anything.

Yeah, the movies are pretty popular there though. I've been 3 times and you have to get there at least 1 hour before the movie starts to get a free beanbag to sit on.

As for the Cultural Centre screen, I've only ever seen used for abstract art.

Obviously too early to comment on the coke can.

SA can barely keep the power running for the state, they have bigger concerns
