No matter where in Perth they are, they all look the same. Boring.

So it's not restricted to Victoria?!
That's either a good thing or a dreadful thing.

It also seems that the newer the house, the lower the ceilings which counteracts the literal growth in population.

I also don't understand the obsession with island benches, segregated microwaves or splash backs.

I thought island benches went out in the 70's.

And splash backs were what you got if you stood too close to the urinal at the footy.

Lol

Maybe in the very south they might not be needed - should be mandatory in Perth especially with most houses being double brick
Sure you want to block the western sun but eaves serve no purpose in the north or east.

The biggest energy cost is heating your home, not cooling it, thus why would you want to block the northern sun.

The northern sun, is a winter thing, not a summer thing.

I live in a wanky environmentally friendly designed home, built for a couple of million. No eaves, with a single pitch roof to let in northern light heating the polished cement slab. It never gets hot and rarely cold.

Driving a long the coast this morning and noticed quite a few large cargo ships on the horizon heading towards Fremantle.

Maybe I haven't noticed but do we not get as many American navy ships dock in freo anymore? Previous years it seemed there was a new boat arriving every couple of months.

We still get them, there just happened to be none this morning.

what could you change?

There's only so many way you can arrange a 4 x 2 house with brick walls and tile or C/B roof. Of course they all look the same, they are all built for the same purpose.

Anyone been driving south on the Mitchell and seen all the merge and indicating electronic signs they've put up? haha! Ridiculous, got to the point they've had to waste money using these electronic portable billboards to tell people how to merge and when to indicate.

They certainly aren't working
Merge early - nope, going to wait till I get to the end of the merge lane and hope for the best
Let them in - nope **** em, the guy behind can let them in

Perth people seriously have issues with merging
I disagree

I have had good experiences with the merging lately.
