What would be the reason to do so? You can't indicate early as it would seem you are turning left, by the time you indicate left to go straight you are already leaving the roundabout. Who are you indicating to?
Exactly. The only driver wanting to know if you are exiting so they can enter is on your right and can't even see the left indicator anyway

I've probably lost money on my home but that's definitely a home and not an investment. However, it does highlight property doesn't always go north.

on balance to the kids today who have to pay more. My first full time job paid $3.57 an hour or $180 after tax, after a 60 hour week. Suddenly $27k and $67k doesn't sound cheap.

Difference being that wage growth is dead and home loan debts are longer eroded by inflation. My first full time job paid no more per hour as I got as a casual stacking shelves at a supermarket. Not really relevant because it wasn't enough to buy anything at all. The idea of buying something with a low wage then paying it off as you earn more is a bit of a thing of the past given the wage/price starting points. The idea of paying something off in a couple of years is really only available to a select few (most of whom are born into money).

100% Re wage growth and an input that many don’t understand when assessing long term leverage asset purchases.

We saw unprecedented wage growth in the naughties and thus will see circa 2.5% wage growth or less for the foreseeable future.

People who are smart will buy shares or other assets instead to build bigger deposits to lower debt exposure. That’s the only way this decade to get ahead but labor has check mated the youth here with the franking policy and CGT policy. This means every youth will need to set up accounts off shore, not pool their investments in companies or invest via their rich daddy’s trust to work around labor’s policies.

It’s sad to see we have created greater hurdles for our youth.

The car on your left as you're going past them will see your indication, as will the car behind you.

And then you get people that just stop when they have right of way.
I was waiting to turn right at lights last week and a guy coming the other way to make a left stopped presumably because he thought I had right of way. It took much gesturing for him to get the message that I wasn't going first. How does someone like that survive on the road or in life generally for that matter?

I got stuck behind someone who gave way to a car at least 100 metres away from a roundabout.

It looks intimidating as a whole but is very clearly marked and shouldn't cause too many problems

Shouldn't cause too many problems you say...

Maybe they should stop fining people for speeding when it is in the 60 zone just before it turns to 100 and you are expected to make up the extra 40 in too short a distance.

I've never had much issue merging here in around 16 years of driving. No worse than anywhere else anyway.

Yeah, if everyone just slows from 100 to 20 there is no problem for anyone. :)

Maybe I'm unlucky but I've seen all manner of retreads who don't understand merging. People who are ahead of you approaching a merge point that slow down forcing you to slow down, people who who are level with you approaching a merge point and mirror whatever you do be it slowing down or speeding up, people who are behind you approaching a merge point then accelerate because 'mein!'... and the classic 'traffic is flowing at 80, I better get to the end of the merge lane and stop'.

This. sticking a speed camera 50m before it changes from 80 to 100 has nothing to do with keeping the roads safe.

I could write a novel on the amount of slow drivers who don't know what they're doing, aggressive campaigners who barely pay attention and dangerous drivers who are too occupied on other activities behind the wheel.
