Fine by me. ******* reprobates can go elsewhere.

Old people like you and I die off before the young people and when you're dead you cannot spend money.

There's a reason why Khloe Jenner or whoever the f*** she is is the world's youngest billionaire.

Like the City of Subiaco - relied on their glory days then ballsed it up by being too staid and conservative when it came time to modernise and are now being left behind - and due to inertia and word of mouth, may never catch up.

Young people (so not me) don't have a reason to go to Freo or Subi any more. There are also plenty of great places to eat, drink and socialise in Perth now outside the traditional entertainment precincts.

I get Subi though

Subi council has some grubby re-developers who run the place down, increased the rents and then used this to support rezoning and re-development

Freo council has just run it down based on ideology

Like the footy club quite a few of my friends would rather head to Cockburn than Freo for a night out these days. Such is life.

Strange considering the only option is The Gate and it is not really a great option.

Last Drop is just down the road but otherwise I agree. The Gate is just full of dipshits looking for fights these days. Maybe the friends are just wanting to go out for dinner in that area and that's it.

100% agree

Fremantle council has a loser outlook on life and then wonders why the town they govern has turned to sh*t
Rents are absolute balls and killed a lot of it. I don't blame the Council. A lot of empty space is being sat on because they collect more from insurance then they will brining in another tenant

Pirate Life also opening soon in Vic Park.

It's the hip place to be for food and drink.

Is it?

The one in the city has a Chinese Democracy vibe about it.

Who knows.

But the massive amounts of foot traffic on weekends in Vic Park (especially at the southern end) don't lie.

people bang on about Vic Park being really happening but I don't think I've heard a group of people say 'let's go Vic Park on Saturday arv?'

seems people kinda move there and enjoy having restaurants and pubs to go to when they fancy it on a Monday or Thursday but those same people don't really have a big one on a weekend there. not like you would in the city, Freo, or a pre-2014 Subi / pre-2017 Mount Lawley.

I think the culture has shifted, in that socialising is trending towards eating at good places and maybe having a drink or two, or having a couple of craft beers at a boutique microbar then doing an escape room, rather than getting plastered at a pub. If you're intent on swapping bodily fluids with someone else by the end of the night, pre-drinking at a private house before catching an Uber to a club, that sort of thing.

If you want to just get trashed and hook up, Northbridge has always been your best bet anyway.

It was pumping last night

I had to park on the south side of Berwick Street and walk back to Albany Highway

In regards to activities, it is more coffee, food and a casual beer rather than nightclubs. Perhaps that's what people want these days given how dead to city, freo, subi and mt lawley are in comparison.

I spotted a meth chick in Cannington yesterday with a Mike Tyson tattoo on her face.

Legend!

Paris has the Eiffel twoer, New York has Liberty.........Cannington is putting itself on the map with that effort

No lockdown

Masks mandatory from mid day for 3 days

Lady who returned from NSW and was in the community whilst contagious
people rag on New South Wales for not calling it a 'lockdown' but... there are masks, venue restrictions, visitor allowances, and no crowds at the football.

pretty close to at least some format of lockdown...

Yeah, but only just brought in. They don't worry about that at the start until it gets bad.
