CY O'Connor pub burned down this evening

They had just won the belt for WA's best steak sandwich as well

sad - enjoyed their meals

Toodyay is my favourite of the three but it is also the smallest. So mightn't be for everyone's tastes.
I prefer Toodyay of those three too. I like the Vic Hotel since they reno'd it but they built short stay accommodation out the back and farked the view from the deck.

Most expensive pub (that wasn't in Perth) I've ever visited

Speaking of pubs down that way, has anyone been out to that brewery near Casuarina? Went there for a Sunday session a while ago and it was very enjoyable. King Road Brewing Co.
Dont pickup a hitchhiker

Went about a month ago, great little spot, just a shame it’s so far out of the way.

Anyone here go to the footy as neutrals.
Yep, took the boy. Great game until it blew out at the end. Felt dirty cheering for the Bombers.

Roe St traffic going to become horrendous. (currently is with the construction having started)

There are real concerns about our health system (as Andrew Miller reminds us virtually every day) but compared to most other places in the world we have a top notch and well run system. You can get scanned, diagnosed, treated and discharged for nothing but the cost of parking. Every time I've had to take my mother to the hospital (whether for routine appointments, scans, chemo, emergency, intensive care etc), everything has been done for free and done promptly if urgent.

The death of the 7 year old girl does raise serious issues but in most other hospitals around the world every party shrugs and moves on, much less hold an inquiry and have multiple senior officials resign.

I think sometimes people lose perspective of just how good we have it in WA, compared to the rest of the world (and even the rest of Australia).

Good ol' Miller, complaining about the slow pace of the vaccination rollout, now the Government has expanded it to 30-49 year olds, he's complaining about the fast pace of it. Thinks we should be giving the Pfizer to the over 50s against all other health advice and recommendations. McGowan should just hand him the Opposition label and salary, no one knows it's officially Mia Davies anyway.

Saw him on the news yet again today. He's appeared more than Mark McGowan since the election.

I think he's positioning himself for a career in conservative politics with his high visibility opposing everything the State government has done. From my recollection since COVID began...

- Opposed blanket travel bans
- Supported travel bans
- Opposed WA's hard border
- Supported WA's hard border
- Opposed crowds at sports
- Opposed lockdowns
- Supported lockdowns
- Opposed the speed of the vaccine rollout - both too fast and too slow

99% of the time, everything he says is to oppose whatever the government is saying. I understand part of the AMA's role is to scrutinise public health decisions by governments but it is getting a bit overexposed now.
