Biggest loser from that was the Krispy Kremes at the airports over east
A regular gift to Perth friends and family from my Melbourne visits used to be a box of original glaze from Tullamarine.
Those were the days.

We lack medium sized venues. Is it just me or does it feel like every almost gig is sold out these days? Obscure artists seem to sell out their showed far often than I remember. Are Perth people just going to see whatever comes our way?

Perhaps a 8,000 seater at the new Perth racetrack! We lack medium sized venues.
For bands you have Magnet House or Metro Freo then the slightly bigger Metro City.
Then the next step up is RAC Arena or HCF with Optus Reserved for huge shows.
Sometimes you get things at HBF Park or Claremont but we really need something else central that can cater to medium sized gigs that isn't a sports ground.
Red Hill and Fremantle Arts Centre. Langley Park can also go mid or big.We lack medium sized venues.

Yep. I’m in same boat. I’ve seen him before but I also didn’t know Holly Humberstone was supporting donating to go. Last time tickets didn’t sell out for him. This time there’s hardly anything on tixel and I’m on auto purchase.I hear you, I don't like to commit to these shows nine to 12 months out, but at the same time, without guaranteed early sales, some bands just aren't taking the risk. I wanted to catch Sam Fender, wondered if there would be some late ticket sales, but sold out, certainly nothing going cheap.
1975 are huge though. I’d have expected them to sell out.THE 1975 (my favourite band) sold out @ Red Hill (it's problematic there if 40c+ and prescribed burns in the bloody area) !!
Bands chose Red Hill for it's "carbon footprint" plus can smoke/booze on stage (Matty Healy)...
Think it has a capacity of 5000 - it sold out immediately - I scored one - but, nobody I knew could get tickets.
Yep, been hearing some Humberstone on Triple j, made me much more interested in going, but fresh out of luck, it seems.Yep. I’m in same boat. Kingfishr I never thought would be close to selling out. They had to upgrade from Astor Theatre.
Wunderhorse sold out two shows here in Perth - more than the rest of the country. That’s unheard of in my opinion.
Tool are an old band but they’ve sold out RAC.
Gregory Alan Isakov - sold out two shows. Didn’t realise he was that popular.
Iron and Wine - sold out too.
I think it’s awesome in a lot of ways that people are making the effort to see live music. It makes bands more likely to come here.
We still miss out on heaps though. Biffy Clyro just announced and no Perth or Adelaide shows and they are big enough now. Killers did the same recently.
She’s playing a solo show the night before so if I can’t get then I’ll just go see thatYep, been hearing some Humberstone on Triple j, made me much more interested in going, but fresh out of luck, it seems.
Not sure about the first two but believe Metallica did.Did James Blunt, Teddy Swims and Metallica sell out?
Perth is only 2 million people or thereabouts and given the distance there are few interstate or international visitors to bump up ticket sales either. This is one area where I support the government chipping in to get the big drawcards here, otherwise they would never come. I'm not a fan of UFC or Coldplay fan myself but acknowledge the economic benefits of convincing them to come here with a bit of cash thrown in.
I'm just gonna forget about it for now, it's reached a ridiculous level of agressive buying. Don't want to live in Perth yet anyway. Will keep saving and investing and maybe look again in a few years time when it's calmed down. I won't be borrowing at all to buy so the fomo isn't as bad either.Speaking of housing since this is now The Perth (housing) Thread, was talking to some friends on the weekend about it.
Between half a dozen average and above average income earners the consensus was that most of us either couldn't afford to buy the houses we already own today, or if we could would be at the absolute limit of borrowing capacity and would be eating 2 minute noodles. And this is people who bought houses in the last decade, not 40 years ago. Nuts.

Can anyone recommend an electrician? Northern suburbs.
