7am? Why wait, if it's 24 hours like Whitfords you could go there at 2am
lol- I don't think they're still doing sausages at that hour, though :(

I hate Bunnings, killed the small hardware shops where you could actually get decent service and advice. And a lot of the time they aren't even cheap, heck they can actually be expensive. It's the price we have paid for the convenience of having everything in one place I guess..
You know what's funny, Kram? You like your shops to have moved out of the dark ages and be trading on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and public holidays, but you want to go back to the olden days where 'the man who owns the store, runs the store' :D
Unfortunately times have changed- yes, I used to use the smaller hardware stores in preference to the bigger stores like Bunnings until the were all swallowed up. I must say, though, that I've found the Bunnings staff to be mostly helpful and you can usually find someone to ask questions of, most of the time.

Speaking of the olden days- I was just telling my kids the other day about how we used to walk into Target and Kmart and have staff in every department ready to help us. They would often come up to us and ask us if they could help with anything- and it sometimes got a bit annoying, particularly if we'd just walked into the shop and were accosted within seconds.

Nowadays you can walk through almost the entire store and not find a staff member to help you. Chemists still have extra staff but most of the department stores now operate on minimum staff, due to an attempt at cost-cutting. And grocery stores used to always have someone packing next to each checkout, so the checkout staff didn't have to pack as well as process the items.

Ah oops, thought you were talking about Krispy Kreme
oops! maybe I was - I've forgotten now! :D We were discussing Bunnings in Myaree (Leach Highway, just west of the freeway) and the new KK store opening up next door to it. Guess there was a bit of both doughnut and sausage rolled into the same discussion :) I just got confused! Going back to my post, yes, the 7am doughnut DID rate a big mention, didn't it? sorry!

At least now that WA has Krispy Kreme we won't have all that extra waiting time on the plane coming home while campaigners pack them in the overhead luggage.

and you won't have to hold your luggage on your lap 'cos some ar$ehole has brought home 6 boxes of the bloody things and taken up all the frigging locker space!

Was it you who was saying that passengers with KK doughnuts have to hold them on their lap these days? Someone here mentioned it, I think.

No, not me. Bloody good idea though.

Krispy Kreme is just such an ordinary product to bother buying it another state and bringing it home with you on a plane.

Puffin Fresh Donuts at Armadale Shopping City > Krispy Kreme.

Granted most people would rather fly to Melbourne than drive to Armadale, so carry on.
If you're in Armadale, it's just a short drive to Garden City in Booragoon, where you can buy delicious Dreamy Donuts ....

Ask BALKAN ;) He'll agree with me!

Not my mum. She went to Brisbane for work a few weeks ago and came back with a box. I asked her why and she said you have to get some when you go interstate. Idiot.

classic perf
when do we get the referendum on whether to have flashing billboards?
I think it has to stay up there for 3 years, then we have a vote. The results will be 55% for its removal, 45% for leaving it where it is, then the government will ignore the results and leave it where it is, anyway. ;) Just like all the other referenda! :D

We had KK's, what did Eastern staters bring back with them when they visited Perth?

Will never happen, they cause the curtains to fade and the cows get confused when to give milk etc

I'm much, much closer to Garbo than Armadale.

My loyalty to Puffin Fresh, however, is strong.

Mind you I haven't bought a doughnut from anywhere in Perth for god knows how long. The only thing Krispy Kreme have going for them is that they can actually spell the word 'doughnut'.

lol
Donut King has disappeared from Gateways and has been replaced by Mrs Fields, a cafe/bakery thingy. One day, I am sure, we will be seeing KK stores on every corner, mostly as drive throughs ;) (which they will probably advertise as 'drive thru's ;)
