Lol. Very good :) that's a little Scottish terrier on the LHS, Yeah?

I haven't been to a dawn service for a few years. I'll probably go again in a couple of years when it stops being trendy.

Social media has been absolutely nauseating today. First rule about ANZAC Day, let every ******* person in the world know your every movement on ANZAC Day.
I thought that was what people on social media did every day?

One of my friends pulls out the same profile pic each year. Ugh.

I intend to go to Anzac Cove one day, but it won't be on April 25th and it sure as hell won't be with a tour group of bogans in yellow hoodies.

Historic sites are like museums. You go there, you shut the **** up and you pay your respects. You don't 'check in' and start hashtagging. It's so, so cringeworthy.

This, 100%.

It is called the 'Anzac Commemorative Site' for a reason. I would recommend going on Anzac Day, though - it is something else altogether and you don't have to mingle with the Top Deck or Contiki folk or those wearing Australian flags as capes. The ceremony was tasteful, sombre and not politicised at all.

So.....

Who is taking advantage of this absolutely glorious autumn weather and getting outdoors to do things (yes, even just the chores like mowing, gardening, sweeping, raking, etc.) and who is sitting inside at their computers or watching TV all weekend??

I hope many of you are out and about, absorbing lots of Vitamin D!

Not me. I have 2 assignments due this week so my day is consisting of essay writing. Yay!

It was okay
Long long lines for food
Entertainment was okay
Great turnout - the Greek community will be rapt with the day
My daughter couldn't go - was doing Uni work :(
I hope the food was lovely :) I miss the Greek stuff I used to get back when I was a teenager and one of my best friends at school was Greek :) That and the Syrian and Ceylonese food... Hmm. I actually think I ate a wider range of food back then than I do now, which is strange! :D

Have to say the public transport for the dawn service was really well run. Got off the train at the esplanade straight onto a bus right up to KP. Then afterwards because we got such a good viewing spot I thought we'd be waiting ages for buses trains at the end of it, but walked straight up and was put on the buses that were waiting there and back to the station.

They had say 6 or 7 buses waiting there at a time fill them in 30 seconds then bring in another 6 or 7 buses etc etc. then i was thinking we'd have to wait for at least a few trains to leave for our turn to get on one but managed to get on the first. Was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to get in and out of the city. :thumbsu:

Where is everyone???

All out doing their rain dances, I hope :)
It might sprinkle overnight, then Perth is forecast to get around 4 mm between 11 am and 11 pm.

Rain dance unnecessary.
