Still no weed in Perth in case anyone was wondering
Yeah my mrs had to go there a couple of months ago for work (nurse) and the place she was staying was about 500m front the hospital and she wasn't allowed to walk there and had to take a taxi each shift. So that must've been one of those areas. Some parts of Kalgoorlie are a no go at night.
Pick one of the better suburbs otherwise you might run into problems.
Hampton Heights & Broadwood are the best suburbs going by my mate
Any reason for that though?

Booo them.At the main library at Curtin again.
Geez, some students must be too poor to have a home computer and home internet.
Because the noise coming from a computer (assuming a funny youtube video) with two foreign students cracking up loudly is giving people doing their thesis and a few others the Tom ****.

I got loads in my garden if you want some...Still no weed in Perth in case anyone was wondering

It's not a good time to visit Kalgoorlie at this time of the year- you won't get a flight for love nor money and there'd be no accommodation around, either. Some parts of Kalgoorlie are a no go at night.

Can't give a reason that isn't racist.Any reason for that though?
Is Broadwood a lower density/larger block area? Where is Hampton Heights?Hampton Heights & Broadwood is more safe been new areas.
ah, thanks. I found Broadwood- it's out where all the industrial area is...Broadwood and Hampton Heights are the newer suburb next to the airport as you drive in.
I've heard Ningamia is a pretty good area
I thought it was out that way but google history tells me it was up in Lamington- weird- I could've sworn it was down on that side of the airport. My hubby probably remembers better than I do.Victory Heights is next to Boulder. Dont know where the drive-in was
Anyone moving to Kalgoorlie had better like red dirt, scrub, prospecting with a metal detector and drinking because that's about it.
Have they still got those tin shed brothels on Hay St?Anyone moving to Kalgoorlie had better like red dirt, scrub, prospecting with a metal detector and drinking because that's about it.
As far as I know. Probably heritage listed.Have they still got those tin shed brothels on Hay St?
I actually thought they were still in working condition but a recent article (last year) suggests that they are no longer viable:As far as I know. Probably heritage listed.

gees, it's a tough life, innit??Pretty tough to find a pub without skimpies in Kal
I've had to go out to the international airport for the first time since that whole project started recently and it looks like another planet. Completely unrecognisable. Couldn't get back onto Leach Highway going south. There was no turn off. I just ended up on GE Highway. Thought I was in the Twilight Zone all of a sudden. How great does this sound http://gatewaywa.com.au/assets/Publications/Factsheets/Land-Art.pdf
Should give a bit of wow factor to offset the industrial area.
I couldn't be more impressed with the project and its implementation.
Hey guys. I'm not a huge poster when it comes to WA but I'm thinking of moving to Kalgoorlie.
Can anyone tell me what it would be like for a 26 year old Hobart kid who has only moved once (when I was 8) and how it would be? I'm sort of a bit anxious about the whole idea as it's for work, and a permanent position.
I've read up that it's basically a mining town with hookers/strippers. But I want to know - is it really just that? Surely there's more to the place.
