****ing Daylight savings is ****ing ******ed

It was invented for stupid european countries who wanted to maximise sunlight so they can enjoy not going home in winter in the dark at 4pm

Who don't we ****ing do it in winter so it's still light outside at 7pm in winter so therefore it's ALWAYS SUNNY. we don't really struggle for light for after work activities in summer

Why do most of us pronounce Fremantle with a long emphasis on the first syllable, but East or South Fremantle with an emphasis on the middle syllable?

I just realised I only say South Freo or East Freo

So New South Welshman can spell it Freemantle but pronounce if Fre-mantle.

I wondered how long it would take SA to show up. I was expecting some kind of anti Perth/WA rant though.
How anti-WA am I really though? I like the place a lot. It's the best state in the country – in terms of diversity; all the nice bushes and the best beaches in the world down Albany/Esperance way, nice beach towns near Gerro and Busso, all those ghost towns in the Wheatbelt are far more interesting than the franchised Goldrush stuff in Ballarat, Broome et al are something else, and the bush up near the north is the kind of stuff Eurotrash tourists cream themselves over (even more than their two minute noodles and Oettinger). Perth's an alright place, just not keen on living there too much as a late teen/early 20.

By the way, I used to hate the way Perth people whinged about every development: new stadium? Why not a hospital?! New stadium? Subi! Kitchener Park! Cockburn! Perth Arena? Eyesore! Now I realise it's actually good to have those debates, so long as things are being built and the place is becoming regenerated because of it. Victorians seem a little less interested. Short of it affecting Metcards, the MCG, or a new toll road being installed, they don't care about many small things. There's currently a plan to have the old ballroom atop Flinders Street Station turned re-opened after decades and use it to shelter the homeless. In my opinion this is totally ****ing stupid and yet most people shrug their shoulders and don't care what happens to it, as long as it opens. Seems a bit weird when it's a genuine Melbourne icon possibly turning into a scungey mecca.

So what's with that guy driving into the ocean trying to evade the cops
He bought into Toyotas propaganda and thought he could drive his land cruiser underwater, it is "indestructable" after all..

They wont but. The ******s who work around the stock exchange etc that opens to EDST while continue to push their barrow for it so they don't have to get up earlier. :drunk:

But you are spot on, lots of sunlight either side of midday that you dont need to skew it more.
I know a few stockbrokers and they are all happy to have an early start to their day and finish mid-arvo.
I haven't figured out who the discontented mumblings are coming from but golly gee, if I ever DO find out, I'm coming over to wake them up at 4am every day throughout summer, just to remind them of what they're missing!! :D

I know occasionally noise laws get in the way of 'just starting early', but if you do have to get up at like 5am it so much nicer not being dark.

Let's just leave this God forsaken country with their daylight savings and wonky AFL fixtures

Or we can just take off like Chopper wants us to....
