Did you get through in the end?My wife believes that the doubling only applies to calls
Back in the days they attracted real talent like Sammy Davis Jnr and Michael Jackson. Today.. Larry Emdur!Telethon is still a thing? I don't think I've taken the slightest bit of notice of it in about 30 years.
Pffft who needs the king of pop and a rat pack member when you can get the 5th and 6th placed finisher from the last series of X factor or whatever crap reality show 7 hasBack in the days they attracted real talent like Sammy Davis Jnr and Michael Jackson. Today.. Larry Emdur!
The entertainment is pretty naff but it's a great cause.Telethon is still a thing? I don't think I've taken the slightest bit of notice of it in about 30 years.

I flipped channels midnightish and stopped on it for a second. Kate Langbroek was talking so that was a large NOPE from me and changed again.Telethon is still a thing? I don't think I've taken the slightest bit of notice of it in about 30 years.
I can remember Telethon from the early 90s and they always used to make $2-3m. This was consistent until the mid 2000s when they suddenly made $6m, then $10m, then last year was $25m. It's wonderful for the cause, but 90% o the money comes from corporate donations and people like Andrew Forrest wanting to get their name in lights. I don't even remember the last time I watched it, but it feels different when it's not really about people ringing up and giving their $10 and so on.
Not really fair to Forrest who was an anonymous donor of huge amounts for a long time.I can remember Telethon from the early 90s and they always used to make $2-3m.
