We can look at the medieval man and how they dealt with poor water supplies.

My ancestors in China boiled water and drank it as tea.

In England and Western Europe they made ale for health reasons.

Drinking booze saves lives

"In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria."

In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 litre of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria found in faeces.

In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop. However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine and beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering or fermenting.

Remember: Water = Poop, Wine = Health

Therefore, it is better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of shit. There is no need to thank me for this valuable information.

All just anecdotal and assumptions but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. People always comment on Perth's water and if you go farther down than Williams, people are abhorred by the tinny taste
I didn't notice a problem when I used to drink it but have been on tanks only for 11 years now.

I noticed that the water mob haven't been drawing off the Jandakot water mound so much this year. Haven't read anything about why that would be so - maybe better rainfall?- but expect they're using more from the Mundaring Weir.

Has anyone else heard the hoo-ha about WA's water supplies? My best mate in high school's old man was a lawyer. Reckons the number of people who lived in the Great Southern their whole lives are ludicrously more prone to develop stomach cancer. Knew a few doctor's kids in Perth too who mentioned a few things about teeth and throats and they murmured it was the water supply.

I am jonesying for a sixy of contaminated water, does Melbs have similar type water?

Beautiful storm just hit our place. Heavy rain. Lots of thunder. Can't see the lightning, unfortunately. :(
I love watching the lightning at night :)
Love this weather :)
Where abouts are you? I've seen a fair bit of lightning around Canning Vale today.

My dog hates storms though. Tried to hitch a ride with us this morning, then broke through the front fence and followed the car down the street :( Poor bugger. Had to bring him back inside and lock him up. Normally I can take him for the drive but I had two appointments in succession so couldn't have him sit in the car for an hour, unfortunately.

I'm around there too right now but no probs here. Might be a different Synergy grid to you.

Are you near Gateways? Good luck with all that huge increase in shopping traffic- particularly as we approach Christmas. That place is CRAZY!!!

I'm going to park at my son's place and walk there, I think.

Thankfully I don't have to go anywhere near Gateways except for work. I'm down near Russell Road more than Beeliar Drive.
I was told a short while ago that two people from Hammond Park were struck by lightning while sheltering under a tree after being caught at a bus stop when the 9.30am storm hit.
