I haven't been down Margeret River for a while what has changed?
They're shoving big business into the town centre, which it really wasn't laid out for.

The Woolworths opposite the Post office is a farce. How the hell the council allowed it right next to all those houses I'll never understand. Plus the bloody shopping centre around it is an empty shell which will never be filled. Stupid.

We were discussing it at lunch and wifey thinks Albany is the retirement capital of WA. I thought it was Busso?
Albany has a lot more oldies then Busso.
Margaret River is an awful place these days.
Last time i went was about 2 years ago, No intent never to go back down.

Do WA posters have a rep for being racists here? Never knew that if true.

Not that you can respond but I don't understand the post. Are you talking WA people in general or just BF posters - get back to Me when you can

See a lot of retirees north of Perth, between Two Rocks and Jurien. Some as far up as Dongara
Seabird was a bit of an eye opener. Never really knew it existed until last year much less the average demographic.

I've always been adamant I'd retire back up north but have had a change of heart recently. I think I'd prefer to be nearer the forest, rivers and beaches and it doesn't seem to be as cold and wet down south as it was when I was growing up (my main knock on it). My old man has a farm down in Albany and he reckons Perth gets more rain than down there these days.

There were some inappropriate comments last night using derogatory terms for various ethnic groups.

I quite like the weather down there, it doesn't get stinking hot in summer like it does in Perth.

Plenty of nice beaches along the south coast too.
