Augusta is nice, pretty much a retirement town now. Even Dunsborough would be better than MR.

Was looking at the MR stone cottages for sale yesterday. 4 cottages, spring fed dam, about 8 acres, 82k income per year on average. $895k.

They're shoving big business into the town centre, which it really wasn't laid out for.

The Woolworths opposite the Post office is a farce. How the hell the council allowed it right next to all those houses I'll never understand. Plus the bloody shopping centre around it is an empty shell which will never be filled. Stupid.

I mean don't get me wrong, I ****ing love it in MR, but the commercialisation of the the town and the new housing developments around it just feel and look wrong. They're essentially trying to build a second Busselton.

I quite like Denmark as a place, wouldn't mind living there and it's not too far from Albany.

We were discussing it at lunch and wifey thinks Albany is the retirement capital of WA. I thought it was Busso?

Albany has a lot more oldies then Busso.

Last time i went was about 2 years ago, No intent never to go back down.

Seabird was a bit of an eye opener. Never really knew it existed until last year much less the average demographic.

I've always been adamant I'd retire back up north but have had a change of heart recently. I think I'd prefer to be nearer the forest, rivers and beaches and it doesn't seem to be as cold and wet down south as it was when I was growing up (my main knock on it). My old man has a farm down in Albany and he reckons Perth gets more rain than down there these days.

My oldies bought 5 acres inland from Guilderton
2 old bushies have a little land with the shed bigger than the house,veggie garden,native trees full of wildlife

I quite like the weather down there, it doesn't get stinking hot in summer like it does in Perth.

Plenty of nice beaches along the south coast too.
