A car was hit and the person ran. The person whose car was hit is called the 'victim' and the person who witnessed it happen is called a 'witness'. Not sure what's so hard to grasp there.
it's a bit OTT. I mean seriously, victim is usually a human seriously hurt – not whose car gets a dent...

Obviously there are varying degrees of victimhood, you're completely redefining the word so it's only applicable to physical injury. wtf man. Who gives a shit if the word often has more serious connotations? It's not OTT, it's simply how language works.

I study linguistics so, yeah I sound smug, but I know the context and everchanging way of language. But at the same time that highlights how Perth is: so protective of cars that WA people take their hits as a personal one.

I once read two things: Perth has the highest proportion of customised number plates in the world, and that in the 70s or 80s, this American analyst come to Perth and said it was the "new LA." Everyone thought it was so good: glitzy, rich, full of hype and hope, promising, a big name... he actually meant it a a dis – 'all that there is is highways and people keeping cars as a third kid.' Interesting.

I would imagine anyone anywhere that owns a car, that gets a dent in it while they are shopping, or anywhere, would be pissed off.
That can't possibly be a Perth thing.
I pretty much see it as the cost of parking in heavily populated areas. I'd prefer it didn't happen, but I'm not particularly concerned about a little scrape. I have more important things in life to be concerned about.

A woman was screaming at the McDonalds manager at the Kwinana/Baldivis (Southbound) petrol station tonight. She was genuinely stroppy because they don't have a drive-thru.

60% chance that she might have been up on blocks.
But with the drug "Culcha" these days, you just can't tell.

Dont need to be on anything to just be a flat out entitled D/H with nary a brain cell to rub together.

Ok..some happy news now..enough talk of apocalyptic wasteland suburbs full of dead grass and car parts.

Did you know that 2..you heard it ...2..BP servo/Mackers/red rooter outlets have opened on the Kwinana Freeway near Baldivis?!

They're on opposite sides of each other. North bound BP and a South bound BP!

Amazing isn't it?

The first servos ever constructed on the highway of hell that is the Kwinina/Mitchell freeway system.

Going to Margret River for the weekend? Now you can stop and get a big mac and some petroleum!

Am I the only one excited about this?

So amazing...

Is this one of those "we have more important things going on" moments that you were talking about

I don't know. I just get bored and post mindless word drool mainly.

I've seen a few cars circle around then drive off leaving rubber after realising they actually have to park and walk in.

Poor buggers going hungry.

Whats your fave burbs and why?

The rich suburbs.

I did a job at the Royal Freshwater Yacht Club in Pepprmint Grove not long ago.

What a suburb! All those big leafy trees and box hedges.

Except for that half built Taj Mahal monstrosity across the road.

Sort of stands out a bit.

I don't like the really rich suburbs. Not that I have ever hung out in them, just driven through. I don't get a good vibe from them.

Lol, why ? You're in, you're out. How do people have time to get angry?

Petrol prices, cigarette prices, why can't I sit on my motorbike and talk on my phone while I fill the tank? why can't you tell me if the bottle shop down the road is open, the list goes on...

A few years ago in Melbourne, I saw this posh looking girl getting Winny Greys from a servo while out on the town. She bought the pack and then ripped it open and dropped the wrapper on the floor. Her poor friend said "don't drop it on the ground," and she turned to her and said "why not? it's their job to pick up after me..."
