Dunsborough Bakery was sold a few years ago and the people that sold it opened up a new one nearby. So if you want good pies go there. Not sure what it's called, though.

"Safeway" is indeed closed at 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays and open until 9 Monday to Friday. Only IGAs are open past 5pm on the weekends.

I guess if you were visiting from Melbourne and couldn't find an open Safeway on the weekend you'd have to go looking for a milk bar. Good luck with that. Maybe try the nature strip.

Assuming you mean Taz's. Awesome sweet pastries too.

Doing the trip to Gero Saturday morning just wondering if it's better going Indian Ocean drive or Great Northern/Brand highway? Cheers.

Anything good to do there on the Sunday? Thinking about going for a snorkel or something

I prefer brand but for a more relaxing drive then coast
Coast is quite narrow and winding from Jurien so not a lot of overtaking places but still a good drive. Don't forget the dongara bakery for a pie :D

Think the Geraldton cup is on Sunday if you in to racing

Point Moore and Drummonds are good for snorkelling

Cheap fish may be for sale off the boats down at the pens early morning

Don't bank on much being open Sunday and make sure your possessions are secure and not on view in your car

Yep, it's a bit ridiculous from a WA person because I've seen a reasonable amount of the rest of the country. Stuff like a drive all the way across the Nullarbor, Brisbane through to Townsville drive. Sydney, Melbourne and other places like Mt Isa, Broken Hill, Port Lincoln.

Cheers mate will probably take brand than and leave about 5 in the morning. Only there for the One night stand concert anyway but thought I might as well do something the Sunday.

Lancelin is as far as I've been in terms of driving North of Perth. Been to Broome quite a few times and even lived there for a year but never drove.

Same as Kram though have done a lot of trips south

I've never been more than about an hour or so drive north of Perf :$
Geraldton was the furtherest north point I have visited in this state, and the furtherest north in this country til I moved to Darwin.

My family hardly went on holidays out bush (and never interstate nor overseas) when I was growing up and I have preferred other places when I have had the money to travel.

I know someone who reckons they've never actually left the Perth metro area (been overseas and interstate but never left the city when they're here in WA). It would make me miserable to be like that.

Until I was 14 or so, the furthest out of Perth I'd been was Mandurah.

Not even the obligatory trip to Margaret River? That's un-West Australian

Its just one of those things. Tourists often end up seeing more of an area than a local. If you have no reason to venture out or go somewhere you never see these places. I've had no reason to ever go up north. I'd like to see Ningaloo reef one day but who knows if I'll ever go there. Will probably travel overseas again before I do that. I rarely ever go down south either. Very hard to find people to go with once you get older.
