If you've got an iPhone, there's a free app called "Emergency Aus" that has the DFES warnings and alerts updated regularly.
You can also contribute your own comments- eg if you smell smoke, see smoke or whatever.

Got choppers flying over my house every minute taking water from the lake near our place. Fire is pretty hectic

It won't hit Ellenbrook but there are embers flying around like crazy, there's embers the size of golf balls landing on our place. Hopefully they can get a hold of it before the fire hits any houses.

It wasn't that hot today, you'd have to think someone has lit that. Bastards

Yes- good advice. And, if you live in that area- within a few kms- and if you have an evaporative AIRCON, TURN IT OFF!!!
If you're able to run just the water WITHOUT the fan, or if you can get your hose out and water down the AIRCON pads, DO IT! And keep them wet!!

Read my post above re AIRCON. If you've got embers, check outside regularly, looking for any dry areas that an ember might start a fire. Check your gutters for dry leaves, if you can.

Have choppers flying over my place taking water from the lake at Altone. Neighbour has family in Brabham who are watering down around their house. We were in The Vines when it started and had to go down West Swan Rd onto Reid to get back to Bennett Springs. Everyone was getting directed away from Lord St.

Took some photos of the smoke from the front of my place but can't seem to upload them. Smoke plume is really dark and nasty and stretches all the way to the hills.

Photos won't load if they're over 1Mb. I usually screenshot my iPhone photos (which are over 2Mb) and load up the screenshot.
