Loving this - got the curtains open, the window open. The other half has taken off to the lounge room as he prefers air conditioning so I have bed to self - perfect night

I leave my dog outside.Lost power at about 10:30 last night. Idiot neighbours also left their dog outside and it was going nuts whenever there was thunder or lightning.
There was loads and loads of sheet lightning, but the forked lightning seemed to be always out the corner of my eyeIt is just one of life's magnificent simple pleasures - especially when it is dirty big streak lightening.

Looks like some poor soul has lost their life out at the Galleria
Workman working a power transformer outside Woolies.
Yeah, I was just reading that. Reports of several people running out with their clothes alight
Bloody terribly sad for all involved.lol. Low IQ couple. You'd think they'd close the windows maybe? Or go elsewhere? pfft! No sympathy for any of them, apart from the bloke's poor wife. At least she knows now what a rat he is.I think they were watching this

So it wasn't a lightning strike as first supposed?

Did they have umbrellas up?I'm surprised by the amount of people last night standing outside watching it. Could have had a Darwin awards nomination

You wouldn't want to be blamed for something like that, would you? I'd be hoping it was a lightning strike.Maybe it was, details are sketchy as this point.

I know you're not meant to stand near a window during a thunderstorm, so I lay back on my daughter's bed and we watched it together for half an hour or so. Can't believe we all got front seats! Wish I'd sat out in the hammock for a couple of hours- would've been like sitting right up on the stage!
Apparently he was working on a transformer so I don't think it was a lightning bolt. Perhaps one hit during the storm and overcharged it so when he went to use it, it exploded.
Poor bugger!Anyone who thinks that dogs should always be outside regardless is not a person I would trust with regards to advice on owning dogs to say the least. Know a few friends with this mindset.Lost power at about 10:30 last night. Idiot neighbours also left their dog outside and it was going nuts whenever there was thunder or lightning.
