What warm nights in perth?

Im well aware of heat and its effects.

Im not aware that there would be more than a few hot nights a year in Perth.

Id take double brick over any other material.
Double brick is fine in winter, less so in summer

There were over 20 nights with a minimum temp over 20 in January and February 2014

20 is not warm.

And lol at only 20 days.

Come on. You need to do better than that.

Why would you build to suit 20/365 days, if 20C is too warm for you?

Where did I say that you should build to suit 20 days? I said double brick houses aren't suited to hot weather and they're not. Other times of the year they work fine

Hot weather now?

Seem to be throwing vague terms around.

They are most definitely suited to Perth.

Midland brick thanks you for your support

In perth when you get those repeat hot days and warm nights, the bricks don't get a chance to cool and continue radiating heat into the house especially those houses that are poorly ventilated and have minimal eaves that don't shade the walls
I have no idea why people even build those tuscan style houses with almost no eaves, they look like absolute shit.

Well if you want to go to sleep earlier sometime it's hot as **** so you need the aircon to get to sleep. If you have the aircon on when you go to sleep it's on until you wake up and turn it off
1. Use a timer
2. Going to bed an hour earlier doesnt make any significant difference. The only difference is your low temp moves from 5am to 6am

I really enjoy a walk in the cool of the night during summer out here so I don't want the sun up any later, especially when you have to go to bed fairly early for an early start.

People in WA just don't want it but I'm sure that still wont stop some idiot politician make us go through another trial in about 15 years time.

People in WA vote against DLS because they think other people don't want it. It's bizarre.

I like it, Kram81 for example doesn't. I vote for it, he presumably votes against it. That's how it should work. Others vote against it because they think the Kram81s of WA don't want it.
Not sure where you get that from.

But even if true, why is it an unreasonable thing to do? So maybe you personally like DLS, but don't really actually care all that much one way or the other. Other people you know have reasons they really don't like it, so you vote against it for their sake.

Anyway, the last trial was a complete farce which should kill the issue for a long, long time. Even the people who got the thing introduced were against it by the end.

Come off it that's just ridiculous, the majority of people vote against here vote because they don't actually like it.

Out of all my friends and family only know of 2 that voted for it, 1 just moved over from Victoria the other my brother only for the reason he has to work with the stock market and it allows him an extra hour of sleep in summer. Everyone else complained about how they personally disliked it.

But but the only reason people voted against daylight savings was because of fading curtains and the cows!

Absolutely understandable why those living east would have voted no. At the time I was living near the coast and voted no because I believed we had ample time in the sun and wasn't a fan of having to delay my workout time further due to the heat.

The daylight saving's debate in Perth has a habit of getting very personal and abusive when its a completely personal decision.
