Export was being advertised for $39.99 at the closest bottle-o to me. They had Kronenbourg and Stellas for the same price. What I wonder is why it's so hard to track down those English beers despite the fact there's so many poms in Perth now. Maybe they've got John Smith on tap in Joondalup and Carling by the slab in Mandurah, but I've always been partial to their lagers and of all places, Perth should be shipping the shit.
Also, hospitality is prone to being pretty rubbish here (awaiting a smackdown from Scotland). Went to Amps last night. Got there early to have some leisurelies and waited about 12 minutes for a jug of Carlton to get poured – no apologies, not even conversation, and no offer of giving us something else for the same price (would've been like a one dollar difference). Very, very queer behind the bar.

Going out in Perth is ****ed. No such thing as a good club here unless you like wearing ASAP Mob long sleeve t-shirts and googing at Ambar.
I don't reckon it's that bad but then again I don't have the energy to stay out after midnight these days.
I have no idea what that second sentence means.

Do you really expect a bar member to have a conversation with you when its that loud and in a busy club though? I mean if it was ridiculously quiet perhaps. Amps is packed to the rafters these days anyway. If you aren't there before like 10pm, you basically have to wait an hour to get in anyway.
It can be tough on families.
You go missing for a couple of weeks and your wife can get shitty cause you're not at home, or you are at home for a week and your wife gets shitty cause you're always underfoot.
That last bit sounds like my wife...apparently I got in the way of the routine she built up in the weeks I was away.

It was like 8:30, went in, there was a DJ gig before the club proper started. It was ridiculously quiet for Amps, like 8 people in the whole venue and no one at the bar. I don't think anyone wants a chat when they're lining up in a busy club, but when it's empty and customers are being disappointed (not that I cared) it's a bit weird. Surely it's natural to try and have a chat?

Yeah fair enough but it could be a two way street though. Maybe you needed to be the one to start the general chit chat? I find asking the staff member a question usually kicks things off between the both of you but I do understand where you are coming from.
