44 degrees today... not a good day to have your aircon bung

44 degrees and I'm heading to the Glory later. This is one of those very rare occasions where I contemplated not going.

Getting over this bitching and moaning about the heat today everywhere I go. For freaks sake, its Perth in January.

At least you usually get an afternoon sea breeze, try living in the wheatbelt or the Goldfields in summer.
There's not much respite this arvs at all. I'm right near the beach and it's not happening today.

What are you doing on here, get in the water man!
Are you a Victorian?

Nothing dumber than being outside in the peak of the heat. By the time you get home, you're hot and wanting another swim again. The optimum swimming times on these scorchers are before about 10:30 and after 4:30ish. It was so bizarre when you'd see people on Melbourne trams going to an oily hole like St Kilda Beach on a 45 degree day, in a sweaty metal tram with heat reflecting from the buildings to the road to the glass, after sitting in the sun on the sand all day. That's just making you hotter than sitting at home.

Meh, half of the country and most of New Zealand works in this heat 12 hours everyday - quit ya whinging

What are you in with the rebels hahaha the malaga... got a few stories from that place, You might as well come down to the Armadale local and have a few.
48 degrees in Armadale today.
May have been brave enough to have an ale or two if I was in the area.

Probably was worse because we were playing with 4 a side and no subs.

What were you playing? I have to admit that I went for a walk about 8 this morning and was only gone about 30 minutes and was sunburnt - that is the downside to this weather.

Yeah doesn't take long in this weather. Basketball, we only had 4 players so they had to play with 4 as well.

What? So your team failed to get a starting five and the other team get penalised as well? WTF sort of half arse comp are you playing in.

Hi guys not sure if this is the place, but could anyone recommend:
- Good beachy pubs in the Perth region?
- Venue for Australia Day/Hottest 100 (perhaps ties in with question 1)
- Any other good joints (live music, food or just bad ass activites for a group of dudes to do)
Cheers
I'm yet to visit it, but a new pub has opened in Fremantle called Bathers beach house. I hear it's the goods, and closer to the beach than any pub in Perth.

The cottesloe hotel and OBH are also good.

Live music - Mojos in North Fremantle.
