Thanks CouchPotato for the recommendation on little lebanon, was pretty decent chicken. Not the same quality as el jannah etc but more than decent enough to give me my fix

Haven't been there in ages. Awesome food it was back then. Do they still have lebanese tobacco and bongs? :)

Nothing happening in Perth over the past 24 hours???

Zzzzzzzzzzzz

Anyone going to the All Stars game tomorrow night?
Yep.

Wouldn't mind going - what time does it start

Might try a walk up though
good luck! WCE are playing a very young team, by the sounds of it- a bit like a practice hitout than a serious game vs all stars for the glory of the win.
And there are a lot of indigenous stars missing from the all-star team, as you'd have noticed. No doubt you'll enjoy watching your boys running around again.

They were at my workplace today for a bbq - unfortunately I work at another site on a Thursday :(

Footy isnt back until round 1.

Anyone been going to any PIAF shows? Saw Spoon and the Antlers and both were fantastic.

Saw Spoon, great show. Great venue Chevron Gardens.

Had a cracking day at Laneway a couple of weeks ago, good venue too.

Went and saw some big Giant puppets and little puppets on the same day. There was a Fringe Festival show called "Puppet Fiction" at Rosie O'Gradys, Kiwi comedy, was an absolute pisser, comedy take on one of my fave all time movies "Pulp Fiction". Got my photo taken with "The Gimp" marionette, nothing strange about that at all!

Have been going to the Newport Record Club shows at the Newport Hotel in Freo on a Thursday night, members of well known Perth bands like Eskimo Joe, Sleepy Jackson, Karnivool etc performing their favourite albums. A really fun night out. Last week next week with The Divinyls "Desperate" album.

Get out and enjoy your city peeps.

Yes! Tomorrow night and Saturday night in the centre of Perth they're all doing a concert playing the soundtrack of Oh Brother! Where are thou live for free. You just have to look for it. But I guess it's easier to bitch and moan about Perth being dullsville on social media and forums like this yeah?

Thanks kfc1. I actually have a friend involved in the project so I had a chat to him about it the other night.

My gut feel is that the take-up for parking in Perth/East Perth and anything that involves a lot of walking will be less than forecast.

Also it's not going to be announced publicly but trains from Mandurah to Burswood are a possibility.

That wouldn't surprise me but it isn't that unusual at major events for people to walk a fair way from parking and other transport - e.g. the crowds leaving the MCG and walking to Flinders St Station which is about 1.5km. the same distance will get you to the car parks next to the WACA or East Perth train station. And Perthites do love to drive

I guess it just feels like further because you are crossing the river.

One of the best things they could do to help liven up that end of town is make it easy to get over the ped bridge to the Royal Street strip and vice versa. unfortunately that area is subiaco-esque rich nimby central
