Probably just people in your age group by the sounds of it. Had to go out to Alkimos the other day - should of just gone to Geraldton for afternoon tea with me mum - why would anyone live out there????
To take advantage of the future capital growth that goes with living near the ocean. :drunk:
Alkimos used to be a place you would 4WD through the sandhills to get to to go for a surf.
Exactly what a friend of mine once said about his property at City Beach.

Nah just me and another mate going to see another mate. :p

Yeah I sent the guy im going with a message, apparently we are going south for a bit so we should be good.
Enjoy!
Warm weather, beaches superior to any over east- it's God's own country out here, Quiv!!
Just take a long drive and look around.

Not sure if u got the joke...?
Yeah I did get the crabs bit but you mentioned crabfest and I went off on a tangent. Sorry- hope I didn't spoil your little "downer" on Mandurah ;) -which, by the way, made me laugh. I was just a bit distracted and forgot to add a smiley face before my reply. :(

Woops- bad wording - I didn't "get the crabs" but I UNDERSTOOD what you were saying  ;)

As for actual crabbing i have no idea :)
Is there actually a crabfest on this weekend? Or were you making that up?
I know my son and my cousin have been out at different times in Dec and Jan, so I know crabbing is good in summer. Just thought it was quieter because I haven't heard of them or their friends crabbing recently.

I don't even know why I'm interested- I don't eat crabs! ;)

I live in clarkson (where I've always lived with parents) and I agree it's the norm for us to think a 30-40min trip to the city is alright. I hate it. Especially when I go to uni at Curtin. I told myself when I move out of home I wont live north of clarkson.

But it is quite cheap, which is why the area is booming.

I thought very briefly about buying a unit a few years ago up there after wiring one for work. Liked the area near the beach and the unit itself was perfect and affordable after only finishing an apprenticeship after a lot of the housing boom. But just thought it would be a bit depressing living relatively isolated all the way up there away from all my family and friends.. Would probably be different if you grew up there and knew people in the area though.

Haha yes there is actually a crab fest on this weekend. Gonna be pretty hectic in Mandurah

What do you mean by this? Whats an example somewhere else in perth

None of our satellite cities really have proper CBDs. For the most part you're just as likely to be heading to Perth for work in the morning from Clarkson as you are from Morley.
