What do you mean by this? Whats an example somewhere else in perth
Parramatta, Chatswood, Bondi Junction ate good interstate examples.

Joondalup should be developed Parramatta style, given the population growth and the fact that the area is new.

That said, Melbourne and Brisbane dont really have anything comparable. Dandenong, Frankston, Logan etc are more Joondalup than Parramatta. Melbournes satellites tend to be inner city (St Kilda Rd corridor etc), ditto with Brisbane (Toowong etc) but there is Ipswich.

I'm amazed at how many people commute to Perth from Mandurah for work. I used to hate enough when having to drive down the opposite way semi regularly from Perth and that was at least paid being on work's time, screw driving that distance every bloody day on your own time before you start.

Have a friend who drives from Kinross to Henderson for work. I told him he might as well pay me the petrol money and rent a room at ours. But he has other "commitments" though.

Majority of the people that do it will say its ok and not that bad. It kills 2 hours out of your day though. When you take away sleep and working hours there isn't much left.

I don't understand why they wouldn't catch the train unless they really need their car.

It's such a mind numbingly boring drive as well sitting on straight freeway.

As long as I have me, myself and my music I'm happy to drive anywhere. I love driving

One of the guys in a couple of my classes at Uni does this and he doesn't mind it. He uses the time to do readings and such. Personally I hate even going the 15-20 minutes to and from Cockburn let alone going an extra half an hour to Mandurah.

anyone been to Sneaky Tony's? (and can tell me exactly where it is?)

Mandurah as a place is actually pretty good, it's just full of ****wits.

Agreed. Some really nice spots in Mandurah, but the people absolutely ruin it. There's a lot of good people there, the retired and the working class, but the amount of mental amputees that hang around the foreshore or the forum or the library is outrageous.

Used to drive from Rockingham to Landsdale at one point, which would have to be 90 minutes.

You just zone out bar a 10-15 minute period where traffic gets tight pre city, you don't even notice it.

Was definitely a 2 longneck drive home though.

Yes, nice little place with its prohibition theme. Free peanuts and good rum.

As for where it is? Half the fun is finding the right alleyways/door in Northbridge where it's located. Last few times we tried to get in it's been full, so get there early.

Just so people know, ended up going to Wolfe Lane for my birthday initially (Teriyakicat failed to show!) but they only served scooners! Since when have scooners been a thing in Perth? They had no Coke too so if you wanted something with bourbon/whiskey, it had to be Pepsi!

It also got really warm very quickly in there so we bailed and went to Belgian beer cafe down the road.

Oh happy birthday, bok_party!!
I hope you had an awesome time!

I'm really sorry- thought you'd changed your mind about inviting me. :( Bloody Aussie post never delivered your invitation! :( I'm so disappointed- I was really looking forward to attending.

I bet they charged pint prices for those schooners.

I don't mind schooners as long as they charge the right prices for them.

Was at the Grosvenor after the cricket on Friday, they had $6.50 schooners of Nine Tales, so drank those. Beats paying $11 for freaking Hahn Super Dry, and you get a beer with a bit of character.
