Emergency services were headed out there to force a lower speed limit but got there too late.So four people died on the roads this morning. Brutal
Surprised that the freeway wasn't closed given how shit visibility was cos of the fire

Won't be the last we hear about the freeway I think.Emergency services were headed out there to force a lower speed limit but got there too late.
The other two fatalities were motorbike riders.
On the basis of being concerned about the death toll in the wheatbelt, police targeted 13 towns and basically stopped everybody moving for an alcohol/drugs test. I'd like to see them try that stunt in the city.Won't be the last we hear about the freeway I think.
I spent an inordinate amount of time on the roads today and tbh I'm surprised there aren't more accidents given the number of idiots behind steering wheels or sitting on bikesTerrible day - there also seems to be an inordinate number of motorbike deaths in Perth lately. I wonder how our rate compares to the rest of australia
They were free before. The smart move would have been on the back-pedal to say "OK, we'll keep the trains on late but you're going to have to pay now", and nobody would have minded at all.Was just in the Perth train station, so they're peddling free trains between 12 and 1.30?
Weren't they going to cut them due to being unprofitable just 2 months ago? Making them free makes perfect fiscal sense....
Haven't the late trains always been free? I think they were going to cut them before because they thought no one was using them but it turned out to be dud figuresWas just in the Perth train station, so they're peddling free trains between 12 and 1.30?

What speed have they reported him to have been travelling at?Pretty disgraceful from a "professional driver" to be travelling way too fast for conditions, now he's killed 2 people and will have to live with that for the rest of his life.

I knew it was coming though - people always want to blame someone else particularly the authoritiesI agree about the channel 9 report being pathetic, as in, the people complaining. It's not authorities fault at all.
They haven't really provided much detail in the news reports I've seen - I made a comment earlier that the truck was likely travelling fairly fast to have rolled over like that. Given visibility was shit, I'm surprised he was travelling at any sort of speed. Just how the crash occurred though I've no ideaWhat speed have they reported him to have been travelling at?
I'm surprised that the police have released details of the crash so quickly- they usually take a lot longer than that... or is this what the media vultures have concluded?
