The idea of a "poor visibility warning" is the most ridiculous ******* thing I've ever heard.

Surely, even for the most self absorbed Perth driver, if you're at the wheel and conditions deteriorate to the point where you can't see shit, you slow down and proceed very carefully until you can.

Some people don't know how to use their brains unless a sign is telling them how to do so.

I do not think that is the problem. Some people just think that things like slowing down when there is poor visibility only apply to normal drivers and "gods gift to driving" like them are able to overcome these inconveniences with their superior skills, eye sights and reactions.

If you are going to stop, pull over to the emergency lane where it's safe.

Even that's not safe unfortunately. At least once a week on the Kwinana some turd uses the emergency lane to overtake "slow" traffic. They usually drive a ute the *****.

Any other students on here notice a tertiary concession price increase this year? I'm chewing through $10 a week for 3 days at Uni when last year I would have gone through not much more than half that.
I've given up, public transport shits me to tears. It drives me mad taking up to 15 minutes to find a park at Mandurah, 10 minutes waiting for a train and then 10 minutes waiting for the bus to uni from Canning Bridge. I live in Mandurah and it takes about 55 minutes to drive to Curtin when the traffic's good, about 90 to get back when the freeway's congested as hell, but it's just so much less stressful and you can just play your music and run on your own schedule. Yeah, it costs me a bit in fuel, but it's much more enjoyable. Plus I know where to park for free at Uni so that helps :P

Just got back from dropping my dad off at work in Welshpool and the amount of trucks that went flying past me or up my arse despite the fact I had cruise control set to about 105 km/h was ridiculous. No idea why they feel they can do that at 5am yet drive slow as f*** in the middle of the day.

Less cops/ speed cameras around at 5am

How exactly do they wish to be "warned" that visibility was poor?

SMS so that they can be warned while on the road? ... wait

Warning signs on the road side informing them of poor visibility? ... wait
apparently all radio stations were broadcasting a warning- but who actually listens to the crap on most radio stations these days? I know that I don't- I always have my iTunes plugged in.

Maybe there should be a road block and then each car gets assigned a special ute with flashing lights to follow past the road block- to make sure they get safely to the other side of the area of low visibility?
Do you think that might work?

'What does that sign say?'
'Not sure, I can't make it out through the smoke'
'Oh well, just ignore it then'

This is a public forum mate, save the silly racial nicknames for the family dinner table.

Asian drivers might sometimes lack in the skills department, but I've never seen them drive aggressively or be overly impatient. Might be something your average Anglo motorist could learn off them.
