What's with these bullshit petrol prices? I'm not one to worry about saving a dollar or two but when you're driving a big 4wd and a turbo that only runs on premium it definitely makes a difference.

Is anybody else mildly annoyed at this? I'm all for infill development and all that, but 2km from the end of the main runway, really?

200 aircraft movements per day, with the likelihood of it only ever increasing. Especially if they build a new parallel runway. It's just stupid. I know they will have to build their homes to some new noise reduction spec, but that only affects the inside of the house.

The entire state is dependent upon that one airport. It is absolutely critical to the entire state. It must be allowed room to expand when needed. These residents can't be used as an excuse for imposing curfews or blocking construction of an additional runway in the future. Aircraft are necessary, but they are noisy and a buffer zone must be established. It is madness, utter madness/

Played there all the time. My mates house was on the 5th par three. We used to ring his missus as we were coming down the 4th and she'd be waiting for us on the 5th tee with a six pack.

And on the weather, yeah technically it's not that cold here but for those of us that aren't used to temperatures dropping below 0 anything under 10 degrees is freezing

I noticed a 30c difference between my local Woolies petrol station and a BP just around the corner. It's pretty disgusting how we get ripped off. The methodical rise and fall of prices from day to day somehow doesn't raise eyebrows at the offices of any team that is investigating fraud. And somehow the lowest prices of a traditional Wednesday have now switched to Sun-Mon.. - across the board. Of course it's price tampering/collaboration!

I agree. I personally think that it is stupid and ridiculous, while also expecting a whole bunch of complaints from people who live in that development. Quite simply I would be telling that developers to piss off and stop wasting people's time.

I would not be surprised if after it was built we get a Today Tonight feature of "We didn't expect it to be this noisy!".

My instincts for human nature say otherwise. But we'll see.

There will be a memorial on the title and all that, but it still won't stop people from campaigning against any further airport expansion whenever it comes up.

Perth is changing so much and so fast atm. I know it's inviting mokery to admit but being from Rockingham I don't get up to the city often. Took my daughter up to that dinosaur exhibition at Perth Arena the place is almost unrecognisable. I know when your living in it, it feels that the progress drags. It really is going quite fast though.

I can't see the new houses being any worse off than the current houses in South Guildford and Hazlemere that border the golf course. It seems a bit weird to have objections now. If people want to live there, go for it.

Same here. Yet I still managed to slice it two fairways over.

It was a hackers course but we cut our teeth on courses like Rosehill and Embleton.

I like Wembley and Collier because you get a choice. Whaleback is okay (good driving range). Point Walter has nice views but quite hilly in parts (only 9 holes though).

How many games of golf did it take you guys/girls to get any good at golf? Only played a handful of games and doesn't phase me if I'm shithouse because it's still good fun with the mates.

Am probably going to start playing it on a more regular basis to get some practice in. Any recommendations for a relatively easy course from Mandurah-Perth

I actually got worse over time so stopped playing. Used to go to Point Walter a bit. Cant remember where half of the courses were that I went to NOR

Have absolutely no interest whatsoever in the game - can't imagine there could be a lot worse things to do than hitting a tiny white ball and then looking for it to hit again and again and again - weird.
