I was born and grew up in the Perth. Brrrrr winters.

Then I flew off to college in the mid-west USA.

Showed my Perth winter coat to fellow student. Was told " you are going to die" and was taken shopping for real winter cloths.

When it was -30 and windchill -50, even those proper winter cloths needed other proper winter cloths over the top to approach not freezing to death.

Coming back to Oz realize that we do not dress properly for even the level of cold weather we have here.

The coldest I have ever been was in Washington DC in winter when they had a massive snowstorm there, I had only just arrived there after flying from Perth via Sydney and LA.

I'd never even seen snow before so I was ill equipped to deal with a snowstorm where the snow was about 3 or 4 feet deep and the temp was well below zero.

Me and a mate went out on the town one night there without even a jacket or jumper and nearly froze to death walking between bars, we didn't make that mistake again.

The North East Coast of the US in winter was far colder than anything I experienced in the UK or Europe in winter.

Perth winters I can get around in shorts and a t-shirt most of the time, it hardly ever gets cold enough that you need to wear a jacket or jumper.

ACT , June or July.

That's ****en cold.

One of the funniest things I've ever seen out in Northbridge was my mate get eventually talked into selling his $20 Ed Harry jumper he was wearing to some gearhead that had just been in a fight and left only wearing a singlet to him for $110. It was actually a pretty fair price though given how cold it was that night, only wearing a short sleeved shirt now options were either going straight into somewhere and stay there or get a taxi straight home.

You are either a psycho or weigh 150+kg.

Neither, the cold doesn't really bother me though.

Even when I lived in London I just got around in winter there with a thick jacket I bought here while other people there would rug up like snowmen with beanies, scarves, gloves etc.

Yeah used to love playing Marangaroo when I lived NOR. Hill view's the only I've played SoR so far.
Whaleback goes ok for SOR. Hartfield in forrestfield allows public on Friday's for ~$35 for 18. Big step up from Hillview, they've spent a lot of money doing it up.

You see some bogans wearing jeans down at the beach in Summer when it's about 40 degrees, f***ing madness.

My favourites down at the beach are the chicks with full makeup and hair perfectly done

The other side are the nutters that wear trousers all year round even in 40+ degree heat. **** that unless you are forced to on a mine site or something.

My dad wears jeans all year round. He also likes getting into a boiling hot car and not turning on the aircon or winding the windows down. He is crazy.

Never been there myself but I've heard from people that have that it get's bloody cold there, most inland places get colder than places on the coast.
A couple of mates and I drove from Sydney, checked out the Bradman Museum in Bowral on the way, to Canberra to visit the War Memorial.

We were chipping ice blocks off our windscreen every morning. Forget about going out on the town at night.

Even if there was a nightlife in Canberra, it was too ****en cold to enjoy it.

The only time I wore jeans and a jacket in summer is if I was on my motorcycle.

I see people on bikes wearing shorts and shirts and I shake my head. You come off, it's going to hurt.

A lot.

I get around in the shorts but I do wear a pretty thin jacket in winter.

My legs never seem to get cold. Only my shoulders.

That's good. Kids at home have too many distractions. No Xbox at the library.

Coldest for me,

Christmas time in Sweden right up in the article circle. About -20C and we decide to do a dog sled ride. Took a morning for the ride and a week to get feeling back in my face.

I spent a long weekend in Stockholm at the end of May and it was a balmy 15/16 degrees and sunny which was shorts and t-shirt weather there.

It sounds cold when you live here but after spending a winter in London where it barely gets above 10 degrees, a 15 degree day there felt like a 25 degree day here.

Sounds like a fun day out for the kids.

This one was Caucasian.

Poor kid looked bored. You'd hope he had a computer or tablet to play with.

It would have also been smart to book a study room so that others don't get the tom ****.

It kinda shits me also that you can't use your laptop to concentrate on answering exam questions and study in silence. Got a vacant spot in the corner away from everyone this morning, and 10 minutes later a bunch of Germans who wouldn't shut their traps just had to come and sit behind me.
