It's interesting you mention that accident on Vahland Avenue - I was only talking about that to my daughter on the weekend when we were travelling along Jon sanders drive. The intersection of harborne and Brady (becomes Jon sanders) has the same dip that made that car lose control because of the speed it hit it at. Was an absolute tragedy so close to their tee exams - impact on students must of been massive
Got a link to this one? In my area but must have missed seeing it on the news. Sounds horrible.

i've been sitting at my computer for 2 hours now, thinking about that tragic accident. I can remember so clearly where I was when I heard the news. I can picture exactly where I was standing. How I felt when I heard my son's friends' names. What I did as soon as I heard- (went and found my son, who was working, and took him to be with his friends at the chapel at school, where the school had organised counsellors to speak with the kids). I remember their parents going to school, just to be with and to console their children's friends- at a place where they'd spent a significant part of their lives- despite being the ones who'd lost so much. Those poor grieving parents and the siblings.

I remember the scum that we call the media. The lengths they went to to get their gory stories. Sneaking around, taking pictures of grieving students and teachers through windows. Staking out the houses of their bereaved families. They had no respect for anyone's privacy- and if they didn't do it, there'd be someone else who would.

I also remember, a few days after the accident, taking my son over that same dip in the road- on his way to be with his friends one evening after school. When I returned to pick him up, I'd forgotten which intersection it was- I rarely go out that way- and, travelling within the speed limit, I went through those same traffic lights and almost became airborne myself, at only 70kph. It was a nasty intersection and I'm surprised that it was left that way for so long- I wonder how many people lost control there. It doesn't take much. My vehicle had a long-wheel base and it just took off and came down hard after the dip. Last week when I went over the dip, I remembered and slowed right down but I think the dip has been fixed now.

They're all too busy bashing each other in the derby threads.
Not all of us. No offense I have always preferred beating your mob then Freo. God damn Paul Salmon and Sheedy.

I think this weekend's derby is going to be a battle of the walking wounded. A "last man standing" sort of affair.
I think a lot of us are wondering it Freo will go half arsed. Tactically its 'better' for them to have us stay 2nd. No ladder position at stake for them really but.

Yeah, I'm just sorry for your mob that things have turned out the way they have with poor NN and his family. It must be really tough for the young bloke.

What has happened to this thread?? Did I say something wrong?
Has everyone been airlifted out of Perth and my family forgot to tell me?

I just have nothing of interest to say.

Hmmm, how to kick start a Perth discussion...

So I bought something at the shops today. 10% GST included in the price. How much of that you reckon will find its way back to WA...
Most of it is straight to sponsoring the Hawks.
