70 odd crimes committed in Rockingham last month. Top rated suburb in Perth.

Baldivis in Top 5. It's not all sunsets and tequila down here.

I thought I was seeing things with Subiaco in there... as if anyone would turn down a free house in Subi. Great area. The worst thing is the prevalence of smug arseholes but every good suburb is littered with them.

Did their used to be a TV ad, something like "One in a million, Subiaco.... Pavilion!"

Or am I just imagining that.

I don't remember that, I think you must be imagining it.

We used to spend quite a lot of time there as kids wandering aimlessly around looking through the shops, we never had enough money to buy much.

It's not as bad as places like Claremont but it has become a lot more yuppified in the last 20 or so years.

Talking to a cop friend she was saying that Wellington Square is heading the same way

The guys in Wellington square are rarely trouble as they are just down with a sick relative at RPH and too pissed by 7am to be of any harm.

there fine but they certainly are messy.

Carlton Hotel bottle-o would go out of business if they were moved on

Lisa Scaffidi moved the aborigines out of Wellington Square around 2003 and almost closed "John's food and store" which doubles as a bottle shop on welington square. Not surprisingly their biggest seller at the time was "man in boat" cask wine.

Unfortunately for Lisa, they moved out of Wellington Square and right out the front of her house which was the the top of claisebrook at the time. Lisa called a truce and they returned to Welligton Square.

That's excellent. When I used to work in the CBD I'd ride the bike in to work and they'd all be hanging around McIver station waiting for the churchies to open up with free food. Riding through there was like rounding zombie-ish traffic cones all littered along the cyclepath. Not sure how they disposed of them for the whole Giants things during PIAF.

Our building in East Perth was being broken into at least once a week by tradesmen, when East Perth was still a building site.

We simply gave the "locals" a carton each week and they kept an eye on things. We never got broken into after that.

wow Subi is on the list

I wouldn't have picked that but I guess it does have a train line

I would have thought Balga and Rockingham would be up there with Armadale and Midland

It's not perfect, but it's not as bad as the "media" will lead you to believe.

it has redeeming features............

Apparently I say "but" and "aye" too much.. Makes me sound like a bogan over here in Melbourne..

Fck I miss Perth sometimes.. So easy in that town.

Weren't you telling us a few months back how backwards the start was and that you couldn't get out of here fast enough

I'm surprised it has Rolleystone and Kelmscott but not Armadale.

You never crap in your own backyard so I'm not surprised with the listings and like Power Raid said - the train line is also a factor. No midland is another surprise - so many suburbs you could name tbh

They name themselves really.

Yeah I know... But I'm just a bit homesick this week.

I flew back for a weekend like 2 weeks ago and I hated it.

Thanks for reminding me.
