its great to see construction projects being tacked on at the "end" of the development boom in the mining industry.

its a shame we couldn't have held off on the entertainment centre which could be built now at half the price.

As a Collingwood supporter, I must say I've really enjoyed this football season in Perth. Obviously Collingwood struggled in the last half of the year, but the banter between West Coast and Freo supporters at work and around town has been great. The aftermath of the two Derbies was great and I'm sure the next two weeks at work will be great as they discuss the results from the weekend. A Derby GF would be ridiculously brilliant as a neutral over here.

Personally I go to the Boheme - Not too pricey, can be decent student crowd there.
Pica bar and Lot 21 go alright.
And what's with the brass monkey playing such loud music at like 5pm?

Anyone got any suggestions?

Want to give that hipster joint on William St next to the theatre a go but i never seem to be right place / right time.

The pop up bar next to the ice skating rink was pretty cool, shame it only lasted a few weeks.

The Bird is good if you want to see a bunch of pretentious losers who'll work in hospitality their entire life look at you scornfully and dismissively when you ask for a beer. Macked on with a bird from Tinder there once so can't hate the joint too much. I actually don't mind Ezra Pound too much despite being a little on the tosspot side. The drinks are fairly priced from memory (something like $7 Melbourne stubbies too?); the staff aren't really obnoxious, it's got an okay atmosphere on a boring Wednesday.

What's the name of that newish place maybe down Aberdeen Street that's sports themed? As in it doesn't just have a bunch of sport playing and some Guns n Roses, I mean it's sports themed like the Claremont is middle class white kid themed. The bar staff wear basketball ref shirts, there's a bunch of hoops around... it's also about $13 for a pint of flavourless shit like Swan and the highlight was hearing Blur's Girls & Boys playing. Is that place still going? Are there fights? Has it lost its gloss and now resembles a battered NBA Jam arcade machine? I can't imagine it even still being open/having any sort of okay reputation. Horrible joint.

Been past it. Not much there. Popular for fishing if you're into that (I'm not), but my impression is there's rarely anyone there under the age of 55.
