Very promising. Good acoustics? That's my tonight :p

Sorry bit late here but yeah. I've seen Jebediah there a couple of times, You Am I a couple of times I think and a few comedy acts as well.. Stephen K. Amos and maybe Stephen Merchant. It's a great venue for either really. As a punter I like the fact you can sit down upstairs or stand down stairs if you want to be closer. Parking is a bit of a bitch though.

I saw Paul Kelly at the Regal Theatre in Subi in the late 90s when he was on his Songs from the South greatest hits tour.

Him and his band were great and the acoustics are good there too but it was quite weird sitting in a theatre watching a band and you couldn't really drink there like you can at a pub show.

They have a bar out the back of the theatre but you don't really want to be going back there to get a drink during a show.

I saw Colin Hay there a couple of years ago. Was awesome. His voice is so powerful it just fills the space.

He could make a living from just being a comedian. Very funny guy and his timing and delivery is outstanding.

I went there once for a few days in the middle summer. Rained every bloody day whilst it was high 30 degrees back home..
Sounds like heaven.

Yeah, enjoyed it - first couple of Lifehouse songs it sounded as though they didn't quite have the sound balance right but the rest of the night was great fun. Definitely recommend. Parking up the street was easy wnough too.

I have no idea who that is but glad you enjoyed it. I also rate Metros in Freo and Perth for bands too although a lot of people seem to hate both venues. The old Planet (now the Doll House Gentleman's Club) used to be a good venue too back in the day.

Rate Metro City, not so Metros Freo though

There's a bit of a lack of good mid-sized venues for gigs since the Bakery closed.

The Astor is great for big bands and the Rosemount is probably the pick for the next tier down.

Hard to go past Belvoir for atmosphere, although it's such a pain to get there. The PIAF setup in summer is good too.

The Boston is quite good but probably a touch smaller than the Rosemount. There's no bar taking up the middle of the room though.

Not when you are part of putting it together. Im also not sure if Festival Gardens will be back in that form again this summer, seem to remember something is happening in that space building wise.

I think you're right - hopefully it's around in some form, somewhere in the city.

It was a special build there though, only event some of that gear got used for.

Ahhh music in Perth. I used to go to a good 3-4 gigs a week. It's a shame the Bakery's closed down. There really isn't enough live venues anymore. Have they got the Hyde Park going again?
And Metros Freo > Metros Perth but they're both kinda sucky. I preferred the small venues like Norfolk, Mojos & Amps

Anyone done a "Quizmeisters" pub quiz? Going to one tonight at the Rosemount
I do these in Richmond. They're heaps fun. Make sure you add them on facebook and get their facebook question off it.

Anyone hear about that couple who stopped to check out their new house being built in Willagee, left the car running with child asleep in back only to have it stolen by a couple of locals?

Saw that on the news. Crazy!

I purposely turn the battery percentage off on all my devices.

I don't need to know the exact percent of my battery, when it's flat I'll know because the icon will change colour. Having that number just makes me obsess over how much battery I've used. (plus I think the status bar look cleaner without the number %)
Interesting, but I'm not sure how it relates to Perth.
