I voted for the sole purpose of making sure Jesse Jacobs didn't get in (and to a lesser extent Christine Cunningham, but she only has a party connection - she doesn't also have her signs everywhere and seemingly endless pockets).
Canning Clique in here it seems.

Jacobs is a Lib, who is Cunningham aligned with?

My bee in the bonnet ATM is the construction of bike lanes on Scarborough beach road in Mt Hawthorn/North Perth. Super busy road which has now been reduced to one lane in either direction and I'm still to see a ******* bike use it. I don't have a problem with City of Vincent investing in these bike lanes closer to the city but the reality is that up until Oxford Street there are no bike lanes along scabs road and once you get to Charles Street it stops - like, what is the ******* point
I drive through there to get to cricket training. I'm not the only one cursing and shaking my head.

Armadale is really a hole of a place. Been here 15 minutes and almost seen two fights, being asked for smokes left right and centre, etc etc.
I thought you were supposed to be giving up the durries.

What is is this magic?

20-something percent vehicle registration fees go to local government for local government roads.
That is just an index of how much funding they provide each year. It all goes into State Govt consolidated revenue first and then back out again. Its the same as saying "doesnt my income tax pay for these roads" or "doesnt the GST on my lunch pay for these roads"

Sure, but if the question is "doesn't my vehicle registration go towards that (local roads)?" then the answer is, "yes, to an extent, because 20-something percent of vehicle registration fees is transferred to local government to pay for local roads under the State Road Funding Agreement".

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
There was an article in the paper (Monday?) saying our luck will run out and that Ash Wednesday is coming, or something.
I'm afraid I don't buy into their sensationalist garbage so I didn't read the article. Hopefully they've done enough burnoffs over the cooler months to reduce the risk of a Mega Fire.

It's probably the last rain we'll get here until April so make the most of it.
I hope not! I'm trying to get my learner driver daughter some wet road experience. She has been driving for 9 months and still not had a wet day to drive.*

*despite me rushing in to ask her to come and drive when it's been raining, a few times. "I'm too busy"

After a recent drive through the hills, I would have to agree with you. I cannot believe how thick the trees and scrub are and how many houses are "nestled" amongst it

I go through Kalamunda fairly regularly and... yeah. Lesson not learned.
They have places just like that in the Adelaide Hills where my dad is a firefighter and the residents get told that the CFS won't come up there in a fire because it's too dangerous for the firefighters. They just wouldn't be able to escape down some of the narrow roads in a truck.

I think that the fireys are allowed to refuse to put themselves in danger these days, whereas in years gone by, they would've been criticised for not going to fight a particularly bad fire. Once the order to evacuate has been given, if people choose to stay and try and save their homes, it's at their own risk- the firefighters will only help them if they don't endanger their own lives, as you've said.
And good on them for making a stand. Far too many firefighters have died in recent years.
