Hey Teriyakicat seems that fuel mistake lasted for 9 hours before it was noticed. According to the radio it was like Armageddon out there with people lining up for fuel. Apparently one guy filled his car and a trailer load of Jerry cans :D
oh dear!! :) I wonder how much money they lost?!

Damn! Pity I was out having a cuppa, refuelling my stomach. I think I went out at about 7am- had an appointment so my son picked me up and we went to Winthrop then had coffee on our way home at Dolce and Salato at Tony Ale's that morning. Usually we meet at Gateways in the early morning and I always travel past that petrol station.

It's a shame it was an independent operator but that's also the risk you take when you have automated service taking your money rather than a living breathing human being

My kids often buy petrol there- they like the whole automated thing- plus it's often a bit cheaper.

Does anyone ever buy their petrol from BP?? They always seem to be 20+ c/l more expensive than any other petrol station that I pass.

Wave Park Group and architects MJA Studio want to bulldoze the current home of WA football and build a wave park, elevated parkland, market place and 220 apartments, which will cost the joint venture $120 million.

It's a pretty cool idea but at the same time seems pretty superfluous so close to the surf beaches of Perth.

On the news they also said the rates would be about $45 an hour for an adult...pretty expensive.

Yeah not sure why you would bother when the beaches aren't too far away.

As someone said on the Perthnow comments, a snow dome or ski slope would be better as it's something we don't get over here.

It would be a good place to start learning to surf, when the weather is really crap or competition practice but tbh I just can't see it appealing to the diehards.

Say hello to the new Mayor of Canning.

It'll only be as good as the beaches if it has sharks. Does it have sharks??

They are going to paint shark teeth on the wave maker and play jaws music

That might be much more expen$ive to run, though. I know the Arabs do it but look at how many billions of dollars they have to throw around.

Surely we can build a hospital on the site of Subi Oval. That part of Perth needs more hospitals.
Actually, being Subi, it will probably be a large retirement village

Really, we can't staff or fund the ones we have.

Doesn't hurt to have some fun things going on

But but but we need more schools and hospitals:rolleyes: first thing commented on perthnow was that same shit. Don't know why I expected any different.

I'm all for something like that in Perth at least it'll change it up and give people a chance to try something different. Beaches are pretty average for surf a lot of the time apparently. Personally don't even surf so wouldn't have a clue

I like innovative ideas and areas for leisure, I just find this one a bit of a head scratcher given the proximity to surf beaches, even if they are inconsistent. Additionally, I think most surfers love the ocean and variety that it presents.

I reckon we could find better uses of the space.
