Apparently it's not a tourist thing, it's a commuting thing.

Its too slow to be used as transport. You only use cable cars to get to hard to reach places like the tops of mountains or over terrain that you cant drive over.

Possibly the stupidest Perth transport idea I've seen, Ellenbrook train line included (LOLZ, 'sif they were ever going to built a train line to Ellenbrook).

When I rise to power I will re-open The Esplanade, Success Harbour and South Beach.

I think Perth works best with road/rail corridors - but despite sprawling we're running out of room for those.

Sounds like one I wouldn't be going to.

Although I'm not in a position to brag - we have to pay for it ourselves (via social club contributions each pay) and it still doesn't include drinks. And it's on a Friday night.

I just think some companies don't realise how much it effects people..

Its one thing that for some reason companies just dont get. Employees are willing to work for you if you treat them well. My old work would have no issues paying for manager functions every month but when it came to the annual Xmas function they got worse and worse every year until the point where nobody bothered anymore. The last one I saw there was actually held at the work with no alcohol . The companies with the best rep always have good social interaction and functions.

Companies that get all stingy with stuff like that shoot themselves in the foot I reckon. It just pisses people off, for the money they save they probably lose about 10 times that in productivity. A happy worker that feels valued will likely even put in extra when required, one that doesn't often wont give a ****.

As a tradesman even a company getting everyone back together every Friday arvo for a couple of beers (or a coke) is imo a good idea, helps everyone bond discussing work or non-work stuff, boosts morale and you just appreciate it.
