I need a diagram. I can't visualise that happening.
Probably because he's old and they can do anything on the road. Just ask them. I was behind some ma and pa kettle last week waiting to turn onto Canning Highway and he was one of these people that has to wait until he can't see any cars on the horizon before he'll turn. So I gave him a little pip on the horn after the third gap went buy where he could have got round three times and I see this wizened old hand come up and a wizened old middle finger slowly creak to full extension. I had to laugh. There are two exits turning south into Nth Lake Rd. One is from the Shell service station, as kane249 said- at which you can also cross Nth Lake Rd and turn northward onto it (I think) - and the other is a slip lane closer to South St. The second exit is usually a lot busier from what I've seen.
There's a good distance between the two exits- like too much distance for him to have travelled from the exit near south street along the footpath and managed to hit a car at the petrol station plus the lady, so he must've exited from the petrol station but goodness knows how he's squeezed in next to the bollard, travelled along the footpath, managed to end up back in the petrol station somehow, hit the other car then got the lady (I'm assuming she is his wife but perhaps just a friend).
It's like he's managed to do a reverse dive with 2 ½ somersaults and 2 ½ twists in pike
Degree of difficulty: 3.8.

That's the location on Google Maps
EDIT: Ok think i've figured out the path of the vehicle, just bizarre it took on a mind of it's own though.

Would've been my finger though, lol
Must have turned sharply left not right as the story says.North facing up

Two exits onto north lake Rd- one is next to the Kebab house on the map, and the second, from which you can cross Nth Lake Rd, is a bit further north where the Shell service station is.

But how does he and, more importantly, the lady, end up at the servo? She would've had to move pretty fast. From the description in the article and from google Street View it looks like they were using the slip exit straight onto North Lake road towards South Street so it does match up.
Looks like there are two exits at the Shell. One coming from Shell and the other going behind the servo into the shops.https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-32...qgGatE3cYtXIzp9XaA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1

From when I go past that intersection, the exit closer to South St is more usually very busy with several cars lined up to get out- often people are trying to cross the three lanes of Nth Lake Rd to get into the west-turning Lane onto South St.

The "bollard" might be the red and white rail next to the light pole there at the Shell exit. Then he's swung back in away from north lake Rd and back into the servo.

Teriyakicat from what I pieced together, this is where it started

Somehow squeezed through that U shaped bollard and the power pole, back down the hill into the servo, then back up the ramp towards the exit again and ran over the poor woman along the way.

He'd be getting a few frequent traveller points for that effort! Sounds like she had a homing device on her
How the Eff does one actually DO that??!!![]()
I reckon that's as good as anything we'll ever get. Shall we sign off on that and send that to the cops? From this photo:

I reckon the 'bollard' was the No Entry sign. Cars stopped. She's hopped out to ask them to back up. He's gone, I'll just get off the road onto the grass on hard lock right. In going around to the right something has happened (heart attack, car out of control) and careened over the hedge/embankment onto the forecourt. Meanwhile, she's panicked and chased after him only for the car to go full circle and hit her. Then it probably rolled back down the hill the second time.
The car stopped unexpectedly because he put his foot on the brake instead of the accelerator no doubt.
Sounds dangerous. They should be recalling them if it's a known fault. My sisters Getz used to just stop by itself all the time, it's a known fault with them.
Seriously!!???My sisters Getz used to just stop by itself all the time, it's a known fault with them.

Seriously!!???
Thanks for the tip, Kane!
I'll make sure that none of my kids ever buy one!![]()
Thanks, FP- It wasn't on the top of the list right now but who knows what the kids will buy in the future when they're a bit strapped for cash? The new Getzs (Getz's? Getzes?) are fine.
But if you're buying a car I'd definitely recommend something else.
