Pretty sure the first restaurant I visited was the all you can eat Pizza Hut in Warwick. I would have been 4 or 5 (late 90s) and apparently had no interest in pizza, just ran straight for the ice cream machine.

I've only ever been to one Sizzler in my life and it was in Scabby.

Quite liked the food I had there.

I think the Victorian equivalent was Smorgy's.

DO NOT go to Porkies in Northbridge.

A guy I know is opening an american style/themed restaurant in Northbridge soon. Apparently it's just across the road from the re store. He went to America last year for his menu inspiration.

Talking of Sizzlers and all those other places that offer gorging rather than gourmet, reminds
me of the most ill-fated restaurant concept ever seen in Perth....The Bangalore Bicycle Company.

It was an Indian joint, I think either on the old Dirty Dicks site or maybe in Cambridge Street, cant recall.

The concept was that you paid by the hour and not for what you ate or drank.

You'd drink and eat yourself into stupor in a hour or two and then pay the set time fee on untidy exit.

Needless to say it didn't go the distance and attracted as you would have already surmised, a niche clientele in it's
brief but glorious reign.

Not sure why the big deal about a few days of hot weather. These 'heat waves' only happen once or twice every summer. Most people have AC, pools or access to the beach anyway. Think you'll all live. The north of the state gets this stuff all the time.

Probably not worth front page and numerous articles but this is a decent heatwave for Perth. Up north heat feels different imo always seems to bother me more down here
