I went to Elizabeth Kway today since I was in the area. Had a look at it from a nearby office tower and had a walk around at ground level.

The govt clearly have a different interpretation of 'open' and 'finished' than I do. What exactly is one supposed to do there? You can walk around in the little BHP water park thing, but as far as I can see that's about it.

It was certainly less trashy than the colourful individuals in Murray St mall. And by colourful I am of course describing their behaviour only.

I haven't been so can't comment - maybe it will get better when all the other buildings are complete. It does look very barren and it's not as big as I imagined. For some reason imagined it would look a little like the Brisbane foreshore precinct

That's my point. Right now you can wander around or catch a ferry - both things you could do before it was built.

Stuff needs to start going up there quick smart otherwise people will lose interest in going there.

The Inglewood. Hop on one of the buses heading into the city and you could try the Hyde Park or the Rosemount. Inglewood would probably be the best choice as it's about 1-2kms down Central Ave.

Court Hotel is good for watching ball games.

My biggest concern is that with the price of the units, the retail tenants may be a little too pricey for the average joe blow and it will become another white elephant - bit like observation city in its day and the colonnade in Subiaco

Inglewood but it's pricey, bar staff are mostly campaigners, a lot of faux footy fans go there and it's the home of the WA Hawks. Apart from that it's not bad. Either go there or make the effort to go to the Game in Northbridge or up to the road to the Civic where you can watch the game without being hassled and it's cheaper.

I thought most of those types went back home east after the boom.

A lot are. Plenty of stats in sea trade at the moment at work showing a spike in personal effects being transported out of Perth to the East Coast and NZ.
