Seeing as we've delved back into Perth pronunciation and names for things and whatnot, a brief refresher course...

285 mL - middy
425 mL - schooner
570 mL - pint
1140 mL - jug

It's very straightforward. Two middies to a pint, two pints to a jug. Schooners can GTFO for messing up the system.

The bit of land between the letterbox and the road is the verge. Not the nature strip. That is something you get at the beautician.

The little shop on the corner where you buy a paper or a Masters/Brownes iced coffee (Farmers Union etc. also GTFO) is called the deli. Not the milk bar. That is something you buy in the deli if you have a hankering for white chocolate.

Anyone who says nature strip, milk bar or things like pot and imperial pint (as opposed to metric pint? Seriously SA sort your shit out) please hand in your WA card at the border with your fruit.
Well said.

Don't eastern states people often call a carton of beer a slab?
Yep slab over East

Worked with a kiwi who always called a carton a box

Only person I've heard say that was a Korean student the lived next door years ago "I don't drink beer very often, but when I do I drink entire box." The day we moved away he also said "Ahh I must get photo, very important. Never forget crazy Australian alcoholic neighbours."

My kiwi relatives say "crate" for carton of beer

Also, Im pretty sure if you order a pint in Adelaide you'll get a schooner, but if you order an 'imperial' you'll get a pint. Strange place that was ok to visit

A schooner in SA is a middy in WA

in SA a pint is based on the US sized pint (473ml) where as an english "imperial" pint is 573ml
