I live next to the KGB, it's not the best but at least I'm not in Armadale. Or Rockingham.
Chief obviously isn't paying his moderators enough these days.

Is that the one who is about 100 metres from having the Peppermint Grove address?
Yeah, I find him quite funny how snobby he is now when years ago he stayed in the Midland area for a few years as a student, with his flatemate on the dole they lived in a couple of old dumps with almost nothing in them.

I will name one.

Armadale.

Bad reputation, great place to live.

Big blocks, you do not have to listen to your neighor take a shit or take a pee, on the typical new Perth block, lots of trees, privacy and all ameneties of other suburbs.

And our crime rate is lower than other Perth burbs, because all the crims live here and work away from home.

Armadale is a strange mix because of the hills and the flats in close proximity. The hills side of the railway line isn't too bad, lived in and around there for many years, only moved away last year.

Wellard? Seems pretty nice in the new development near the station.

Yeah I've got friends who live in there. Quite normal and nice houses. A small pocket of brightness in an otherwise ####hole of a district that is Kwinana.

If anyone who lives NOR ever gets a chance to drop into Kwinana hub shopping centre one day, hang around for awhile and watch the freaks and ferals go by.

You'll go home and never complain again about the shitty areas near your neighbourhood.

'Shit' comes in different forms.

If given the choice between a brand new 5x2 in Wellard and a 1970s 3x1 20km closer to the CBD I'd pick the latter, but not everyone sits in that boat.

There's nothing wrong with a brand new family home miles from anywhere, it's just not everybody's cup of tea.

A few areas in Perth have copped a bit of turd polishing treatment. Gosnells had millions spent on it and the place looks a lot nicer than it used, but ultimately it's still Gosnells and the reasons people think it's undesirable still apply. No different to 'the new North'. It's good that we don't just spend money on leafy Western suburbs but not everywhere can be blue on the Monopoly board.

I was there a few weeks ago and it wasn't pretty...It's not a bad area - close to the beach and close to the freeway, but the locals were pretty dodgy. The locals seem like total scumbags. However, I was in Wellard the other day and it was nice. There was a jazz band playing at the train station and it seemed very lively.

I always thought Stephen Smith seemed less arseclowny than most when he was a federal MP. Mark McGowan I don't think I'd recognise in the street.

I chatted with Mark at Rockingham FC the day Fev played.

Very uninspiring bloke.

A super nerd who wandered through the feral masses in his nice blue shirt and polished shoes.

Be alright in 10 years when some trees grow.

Lived in the "G" for 11 yrs.

At the time didn't think anything of it.

Now when driving through I shake my head. So depressing.
Same here although I was in balga. Honestly didn't really mind it that much until I moved out and realised it wasn't that great.

Because they're cyclists. They do what they like because the road belongs to them and their imaginary Tour De France stage.
Jelly bro?

I think McGowan is a good quality politician, I just don't think he can win in the current climate.

A switch to Smith on the other-hand would give their chances a massive boost IMO.

FWIW, I'm a swing voter who voted Barnett last election.

Surely there's a thread on cyclist already? Is there anything else that causes as much divide and anger than ****ing cyclists? You really have to either be one or hate them imo
