I think we're making the same point from different angles. Small population, lack of swing seats = WGAF about WA.

If only there was a house of parliament that was designed to look after the interests of the states...

Shame it doesn't work like that. People think 'Oh I don't like the big parties, I will vote Greens in the senate which is about as useful as **** on a bull. Party affiliation and the rules about being disendorsed if you don't toe the party line (explicitly written I think for Labor, and implied for Libs) further disencourages it.

The states need more independent Senate candidates.

I'd vote for an independent or a minor party whose platform was acting in the best interest of WA. Will probably never happen though.

Certainly not a sympathetic thought, but I cant help but wonder about this man.

Prior to that day, was he a man who had these desires but never acted? Had he done things that were never caught? Was this action out of the blue or something he had thought about for a while and only now acted on?

I am so curious about how the minds of these criminals work.

If he'd done this before (god forbid) he'd know kidnapping from a daycare with witnesses and cameras would be a terrible idea.

I don't know why but I get the feeling he might have already been known to police judging by how quickly he was caught.

It could though, just be a case of him being a regular of the north Perth area and people recognised him as I admit that when I and my kids saw the composite drawing there was the instant thought that we "knew" him and this was reinforced when we saw the house

Yeah i wasn't so much thinking about had he done this same thing before, more just an assault on a minor in any form.

It could though, just be a case of him being a regular of the north Perth area and people recognised him as I admit that when I and my kids saw the composite drawing there was the instant thought that we "knew" him and this was reinforced when we saw the house

I think in most of these cases the perp is a re-offender with a history of 'milder' offences, especially if he's 45-50.

Drug runners made their drop but didn't get out of there quick enough or had mechanical issues and were stuck is my guess.
