All it does is make them look like a bunch of cracked pots - they would get far more respect if they answered each subject broached with scientific evidence to support their cause - the problem is, they can't.

I don't get a flu shot so that my immune system has the ability to deal with the virus itself. Also so I can use up some of my sick leave in the event I do get sick. Haven't had the flu since I was a kid (touch wood). The flu vaccine is just scientists best guess at what virus will hit us in the future winter season. This vaccine has vaccinations against 4 different strains apparently.

I hate it when people call just a regular cold the 'flu'. I've only had a proper flu once, holy heck man that was pure hell.
Yeah there's defnitely a difference. Same thing with all these people I've worked with that seem to suffer 'migraines'. I know people who suffer real migraines and they don't leave work early and then turn up next morning.

Yep agreed. I ended up in ER, it was that bad.

Another topic - has there been a spate of train related deaths at all? I'm hearing a shitload of "Be wary of trains" ads on the wireless lately!

I'll admit mine's probably a regular cold. Doesn't change the fact that I'm dying :p

Are the ads as good as Melbourne Metro's?

Yeah a regular cold still isn't fun but this is like that times 10. The weird thing is since I got the flu 13 years ago I haven't had even one cold virus since, where as the before that in my life I would probably get crook at least once or twice a year.

Oh I've had proper flues before. I have a shit immune system so I pick everything up.

Yeah same. I got swine flu when that was going around in 09. Was off school like normal but my mum noticed I hadn't been out my room for a while and when she came in I was unconscious so it was straight off to the ER. Turned out I had also got pneumonia which I was the thing that was killing a lot of people with the swine flu. Was in hospital for almost 3 weeks and anyone who came into my room had to be fully suited up before coming in. Was horrible.

Try going to Girrawheen High. Apparently having a school based police officer isn't normal.
Lol, the good old days around the turn of the century and the Asian vs Aboriginal "gang wars".

Those are the years I was there! Class of 01 :D (I was one of the ones that actually graduated)
I was 08-12. The place had cleaned itself up a bit by then (no cops on the grounds, just doing regular boglaps in paddy wagons looking for waggers and down to only around 2 lockdowns a term).

Heard so many great stories from the late 90s to the early 00s. That was the time to be at GSHS.

$3k would represent what.... 2 days' income? Do the course; advertise in the local paper for domestic or whatever work you're chasing (do research and slightly undercut the opposition, maybe offer no call out fee [build it in your rate] or some such sweetener) and you'll get it back in no time.
More like 2 weeks. Plus to work properly you need a vehicle and spend a fair bit on equipment.

Oh yeah it was. How many kids can say their first day of high school they got to see someone stabbed?

I'll contest that.

I get them and they become so intense that I can't bare any light at all. Writhing in pain thats so intense it culminates in throwing up. Once I throw up though, the recovery is very quick. Usually very tired and need to sleep, but suffer no ill effects the next day, aside from being a bit tired.

There's always one.
