I thought that 6.30pm on a Sunday would be a safe time to buy whatever the hell it was I needed to buy.

I thought wrong.
Between 5-7 on weekends is ridiculous. I hate working closes on weekends because every foreigner and his several children come out for building advice.

Aldi is pretty shit I reckon. I really would not trust their meat, weird importing it from New Zealand or whatever, but stuff like toilet paper and packaged things are alright. Honestly though, for the tiny aisles, long waits at the counter, and the effort people take to get to the closest one, I think it's a fairly pointless exercise. Staff are rude too despite them sitting on stools for $26.50 an hour (and I'm a man of the retail people).

The Rekorderlig knock-offs are apparently great value though. Do all the stores in WA have the alcohol section there? Slabba Jimmy Briggs!

Aldi has great meat, they have had grass fed options for a long time too.

That's handy to know but do you know if is it all imported meat

I can't say 100% but I believe that it is. I did speak to a butcher one day who said that the amount of farmers who farm grass fed meat is not really enough to sustain the market for it but I dont know about Aldi.

Brass Monkey is full of red-faced Irish backpackers, 25-year old Asian women in huge ugly heels, and women who they (but no one else) would call 'cougars' on any night of the week. The downside of this; you'll actually have to go to the Brass Monkey.

Just checked the chicken and mince in my fridge, they both say PRODUCT OF AUSTRALIA o_O

I like Aldi because it's usually cheaper and there's no awful instore music. I'm not kidding when I say I'd probably stop going out of my way to do my big weekly shop there if they started playing mum music.

Doesn't have the ubiquity of Coles and Woolworths, that's true.
