Funny is watching the ones trying to duck down side streets and other shortcuts to try and avoid it, only to run into the same problem elsewhere.
Nothing to do but be patient at a time like this.
I honestly prefer the size of schooners but it is bullshit that the charge the same as a pint ($10). Should be $8 maxWent in to The Federal Hotel for the first time since it changed back from Rosie O'Gradys. Another pub doing poxy ******* schooners. The Wembley just got busted for advertising their beers as pints but serving as schooners while other bars being done up are doing the same. I think it's bullshit.

The wembley hotel and food hall will be an apartment block
developers are already running around with the plans.
It's a shame that they are getting rid of the Wembley - another old pub bites the dust
sad to see the food hall go............good cheap food

Doubt they'd be able to knock it down, it would be a refurb for apartments. Like the Shents, Mossie park, the rose etc. They've just renovated the Wembley Hotel so I doubt that will be pulled down anytime soon, as far as I'm aware it's considered a heritage building which can't be pulled down.
It's one of the last traditional old pubs in the Western Suburbs, it would be a disgrace if it was knocked down to build apartments.
Its not just unit developments. Everywhere you drive now new housing estates are being built. Who is buying all these houses?I really don't know how many more unit developments can be built in Perth - we just do not have the population to warrant so many

Oh please do, I hate those urban coffins badly as well.Don't even get me started on subdivisions that have roads only wide enough for one car and every house looks exactly the same
Been hearing this for years. Hurry up ffs. Some good news, the Royal George in East Freo will eventually reopen. Hopefully not as a wank bar. Makes East Freo/North Freo a pretty good spot to go out. Plenty of different options.
It's the councils who approve of the plans.I get that they are trying to keep the economy moving but they seem to be everywhere.
My biggest pet hate is the developers that come in and do these things without also having to contribute to the infrastructure of the community - they don't even have enough bays for parking and we then get the spill on to the roads - drives me nuts. Its so ridiculous. But who cares right? It's not like those who so approve this stupidly have to live there.Yes I know - but quite often they are getting over ruled by the department of planning. Case in point this wonderful proposal knocked back by the city of Vincent but overruled
Construction of Six Storey Mixed Use Development comprising of four(4) commercial tenancies and ninety three (93) multiple dwellings including ten (10) one bedroom dwellings seventy three (73) two bedroom dwellings and ten (10) three bedroom dwellings and associated car parking and storage areas
93 multiple dwellings - this is on the corner of Charles and Angove - even if they only cater for 93 bays, where on earth are the rest of the cars going to spill on to. Not sure if you know the area but it will be a nightmare and then you throw in the commercial buildings. Further back from there multiple dwelling going up and then heading into the city even more - all on the same stretch of road within about 2km
Crazy shit
Yeah been like that for a while but looks even worse now. Used to miss out on a heap of shows but the one advantage was live full day coverage of the perth test (when the metro areas only got play after tea) but even thats gone now.Does anybody else think country folk are getting a raw deal here

An indication of how long it's been since I've lived outside the metro area and how naive I am in that I just presumed country folk had the same access to television through WIN and GWN as we do in Perth. I think it's outrageous that they won't have access to any cricket and imagine if nine ever wins the football rights again.
