The JUICE PIEMAN 2021 - Rd 3 V North

Mark down this round. 25 goals. Nine goalscorers. Records broken everywhere. Highest score against North, biggest margin against North, biggest margin against anyone in fact. First 10 goal bag by a Bulldog since the 1980s. The highest number of goals by anyone playing for the Western Bulldogs (as distinct from Footscray). The Juice's highest ever haul. And on it goes...

Pieman Player of the Week

Strike up the theme from Deliverance. Treloar made it look competitive but nobody beats a 10 goal bag.

Apart from the leader it's a tight race. That's good to see.




The KELVIN

To have Bruce once means you were guaranteed a good score. To have him twice means you're in with a shout (a nod here to Vinegar Mess -2nd with 248 - and Snarls Barkley - 3rd with 236). But if you wanted to win this week's Kelvin you really needed to have him three times and that's what Boyd oh Boyd had. A sensational score of 369. Not that far off the maximum possible which was 438. Three teams took out the 20 point bonus this week but without multiples of Bruce they were never really in the hunt.

And a special mention to two fortunate teams: SayerTheCreator and Charlie Bucket who both wanted 5 times the one player but were given subs because you can't have a player five times. Their subs were Bont and Bruce. STC finished 64 points better off that way and CB finished 112 points better off (he would have got zilch if I'd allowed him 5 x JJ!)

The PIEMAN

So Boyd oh Boyd has shot to the top of the table but not by a massive margin. There are still another 20 or so games to reel him in.
Looks like being a tight comp for a while yet.

EDIT: Updated Pieman table giving weltschmerz her 100 points for Bruce. Those who were 26th to 36th all move down one spot.
